NEWS
--It's back to school today for many students from Little Falls, Pierz, Royalton, Upsala, Swanville and others across Minnesota. A reminder to watch for school buses and many students heading back today.

--A $7,000 reward is being offered for any information leading to the safe return of a missing 15-year old Alexandria girl. It’s been nearly a month since Jasmine Block disappeared from her home in the 200 block of McKay Avenue in Alexandria. Her family says she left home without her cell phone, bike or scooter, which is out of the ordinary for her. Police say Block also has cognitive disabilities that make her vulnerable. She is described as 5’1″, weighs 110 pounds, with brown curly hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing red and black pajama pants. If you’ve seen Block or know of her whereabouts, you’re asked to call the Alexandria Police Department at (320) 763-6631 or dial 911.

--Stearns County deputies responded to a stabbing Friday afternoon in Eden Valley. A 911 call was received around 1:30pm and a man was found in a driveway at his residence on Sauer Street with stab wounds to his hip and leg. He said he was stabbed by a white male, wearing all black clothing. The victim was taken to the Paynesville Hospital for treatment of injuries. The suspect remains at large. Anyone with information should call law enforcement.

--A passenger was hurt when the pick up she was riding in rolled. The Minnesota State Patrol says it happened just before midnight Thursday night on Highway 10 in Todd County near Staples. 29-year old Zachary Lindsey of Park Rapids was driving east when troopers say he fell asleep and entered the median. He over corrected and lost control, the truck spun around twice and then rolled. Lindsey was not hurt. His passenger, 20-year old Brianna Brown of Cokato, was taken to Staples Hospital for treatment of injuries.

--A man suffered stab wounds in a fight with a woman Thursday night. St. Cloud Police were called to the 800 block of 12th Avenue North around 7:00pm on a report of a drunk man walking in the roadway. Officers arrived and found the 53-year old had been stabbed at a nearby home. Police found the suspect 66-year old Linda Weller, and arrested her on suspicion of first and second degree assault. The man suffered three stab wounds to his back and a punctured lung. He was taken by ambulance to St. Cloud Hospital. Weller suffered a small cut in the incident and was also treated at the hospital before being booked into the Stearns County Jail.

--The 194th Tank Regiment memorial association announced a POW/MIA hot air balloon will be on site beginning at 7:00am Saturday, September 9th at the Crow Wing County Fairgrounds and will stay tethered as weather permits. The balloon will be there for the Bataan Memorial Death March, which helps commemorate and honor the Brainerd soldiers lost, wounded or missing in action from the infamous Bataan Death March at the start of World War II in December of 1941. The public is welcome to be present as the balloon takes flight in the fairgrounds grass parking area south of the fair buildings. Weather permitting, the runners, marchers and walkers of the march will see the POW/MIA balloon with the huge American flag adjacent to it, held up by Brainerd Fire Department trucks. The 20th annual Brainerd Bataan Memorial March begins at 8:00am at the National Guard Armory on Wright Street.

--With holiday Monday, Little Falls City Council meets tonight 7:30pm.

--The Little Falls Area Chamber of Commerce announced live on AM960 KLTF Partyline on Friday that Little Falls Radio's Steve VanSlooten was named the September employee of the month. Steve along with Jack Hansen were the owners of Little Falls Radio when they sold it to Rod and Chris Grams in 2004. Steve returned to work at Little Fallls Radio as co-host of Party Line and then co-host of Up Front heard weekday mornings on AM960 KLTF.

--A 58-year old from Brainerd was injured Friday just after 8:00pm in an accident east of Pillager on Highway 210. Ruth Hallin missed a deer, causing her vehicle to leave the roadway and roll over. Hallin was taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.

--Governor Dayton has approved 11 soldiers from the Minnesota National Guard’s 34th Combat Aviation Brigade to support response efforts for Hurricane Harvey. The soldiers departed Friday from St. Cloud via CH-47 chinook helicopters to conduct aviation operations in Texas. The Minnesota National Guard’s 34th Combat Aviation Brigade is an Army National Guard unit that supports disaster response operations by providing aviation capabilities – both UH-60 Black Hawk and CH-47 Chinook helicopters. The soldiers will join Guardsmen from across the nation who are being activated in response to Hurricane Harvey. They will stay as long as needed in order to protect the lives and property of the citizens impacted by the storm.

--The Burtrum man who led police on a pursuit that resulted in damage to five law enforcement vehicles in January was sentenced Friday morning. 35-year old Chad Bushman led Benton County Sheriff's Department officers on a chase that spanned three counties, when the vehicle was finally stopped, Bushman had to be subdued by a stun gun. In late July, Bushman plead guilty to one count of fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle. Bushman was given a stay of imposition and placed on probation for five years, four days in the Stearns County Jail, but already has credit for those four days.

TWINS= KC beat Twins Friday 7-6. Twins rout KC Saturday 17-0, 2 homers by Escobar and 14 total hits. Royals take series Sunday winning 5-4 over Twins. Tampa Bay routs Twins 11-4 Monday. The Twins continue at Tampa Bay tonight 5:30pm on Q92 WYRQ.
HS FB= Dassel Cokato beat Little Falls 36-20, Royalton wins over Sauk Centre 22-15 Friday. USA and Holdingford also won Friday.
CLASS C= New Prague scored 4 runs in top of the 10 with 2 outs to eliminate Sobieski 6-2 in the Class C State Tournament Saturday.
LYNX= Lynx beat Chicago 110-87 Friday then beat Washington on Sunday 86-72 to finish with best record in WNBA at 27-7.
