NEWS --A high profile child abduction case from 1989 offiically came to an end on Saturday. Stearns County confirmed the finding of remains in rural Stearns County of those of Jacob Wetterling of St. Joseph who was abducted in 1989 near his home. Danny Heinrich, a person of interest in the disappearance of Jacob Wetterling, agreed to cooperate and provide information to authorities leading them to a remote area in Stearns county where the remains were found and then confirmed by a forensics team. More DNA tests are currently being conducted. Patty Wetterling stated to local media that "All I can confirm is that Jacob has been found and our hearts are broken”. On Monday Wetterling addressed the public on their sorrow for the loss of Jacob but also for closure of 27 years of not knowing a parents worst nightmare imaginable. Authorities arrested 52-year-old Danny Heinrich of Annandale last fall, and declared him a "person of interest" in the Wetterling abduction. Court rulings on Heinrich from these recent findings is expected to come today which may include why Heinrich decided now to tell authorities the whereabouts of the remains of Wetterling. The agencies involved continue to investigate and they are expected to release more information later this week.
--A 51-year old from Royalton was seriously injured Friday morning on Haven Road in Little Falls. David Doble was traveling north on Haven Road on a motorcycle. 53-year old Andrew Marshik of Pierz was exiting Tri City Paving driving a cement mix truck. The Morrison County Sheriff's Office stated it appears the cement truck pulled out on to Haven Road in front of the motorcycle and the two vehicles collided. Doble was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Marshik was not injured.
--A Freeport man was injured Saturday morning on 30th Street near 60th Avenue in Elmdale Township. Around 8:45am, Denis Notch was heading east on 30th street as he made a left hand turn into the Elmdale Town Hall and turned in front of 17-year-old Morgan Peschl of Foley. Notch was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. Peschl was treated at the scene and not hospitalized.
--The St. Cloud Public Library announced Friday that the rennovations from the fire back in August has taken longer than expected and the library will now be closed into early October. The hope was to reopen by September 12th but bids on the work and other projects included in getting the library back to public viewing will not completed until after September 20th. Police arrested 47-year-old Jorge Ozornia at the scene and he was charged with first degree arson.
--Its back to school for many students today around central Minnesota (some schools start tomorrow and others like Royalton due to construction start next week). A reminder to motorists to watch for school buses and students coming and going from school today and throughout the school day. Slow down in school zones and remember to never pass a school bus with flashing lights or when the stop arm is out. Let's make this a safe and successful school year.
--St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis announced Friday that the city will have a parade for hometown Olympic medalist Alise Post. The parade for Silver Medalist Alise Post is this Saturday. It will be at 10:00am. It will start at the River’s Edge Convention Center in St. Cloud in conjunction with Post’s 7th annual “MS Race For The Cure” event, which runs Friday through Sunday in the Pineview Park.

--A 69-year-old Holdingford man was seriously hurt Saturday night when the ATV he was driving struck a parked vehicle in a parking lot of a Genola bar. Martin Strom lost control around 6:20pm in the parking lot and struck the vehicle causing him to be thrown from the ATV along with his 7 year old passenger Sophia Strom of Long Prairie who was not injured. Martin Strom was taken to the hospital and airlifted to North Memorial in Robbinsdale with serious injuries.
--A 34-year-old Brainerd man was in Crow Wing County District Court after repeatedly yelling racial slurs, threatening to blow up a bar and threatening to kill and eat the families of police officers after a verbal argument on Monday. 34-year old John Christian Neville has been charged with four felonies carry a maximum penalty of five years in prison, a $10,000 fine or both. This came all due to an incident out the Iron Rail bar in Brainerd where he got into a heated argument and that later led to him fighting wth and verbally assaulting police officers who responded. His next court appearance is September 8th.
--The Little Falls School Board holds a special meeting at 8:00am today at the high school. One agenda item is approval of the request for bids for the Early Childhood Center and the middle school roof.
--The Highway 27 Rice Creek Bridge project between Little Falls and Pierz is scheduled to begin today. Expect detours on Highway 27 between Little Falls and Pierz into October as work is done.
--Due to Labor Day Monday, the Little Falls City Councils meets tonight at the council chambers at 7:30pm.

On Sunday, Raymond eliminated Nisswa 10-2, Lastrup advanced to the semi finals with a 3-1 win over Maple Lake. Sobeiski advanced to semis in a wild affair 15-12 Sunday over Winsted. Raymond defeated Lastrup Sunday 11-5, Sobieski advanced to the title game with a 8-3 win over Hutchinson. Raymond wins 5-4 Monday over Sobieski for the Class C Title. Sobieski state runner up. VIKINGS= The Vikings traded a first round pick in 2017 and a 2018 draft pick to Philadelphia Saturday for quarterback Sam Bradford. Bradford played last season with Eagles but was the stater for the Rams since 2010. He won the Heismann Trophy in 2008. TWINS= White Sox rout Twins Friday 11-4. Twins belt four homeruns on Saturday to rout White Sox 11-3 in a big win. Twins lose a wild one Sunday to White Sox 13-11 in 12 innings and then Twins lose 11-5 Monday to Kansas City with Brian Dozier hitting 3 homeruns in the loss. Twins and KC tonight 6:30pm on Q92 WYRQ.
