--The Little Falls School Board Monday evening passed a resolution to pursue bids for the bonds from the recent referendum. Currently there are historic lows for bond interest rates. There is a very real possibility the Little Falls School District may get a 20 year bond instead of 25 years. With the low interest rate property owners would still pay less monthly than numbers projected and for five years less. The school district believes this could save taxpayers an estimated $3 million. Bids are going out and will be received by July 6th when the school board will make their decision based on what is the best deal.
--A 21-year-old Safari North employee near Brainerd is accused of stealing from the business. Crow Wing County charged Cody Nelson of Brainerd with felony first degree burglary. Nelson is accused of taking a safe from the zoo-business on May 30th which contained $15,000 in cash and checks. He is due in court again June 28th.
--Authorities say that now six people have been arrested in the death of a woman who was found critically injured at a park in Central Minnesota. The Koochiching County Sheriff’s Office said Monday that five of the suspects in 19-year-old Cheyenne Clough’s death were arrested near the Canadian border, but it’s unclear whether any of them were trying to flee the country. The sixth suspect was arrested after a traffic stop in Staples. Clough, of Buffalo, was found unresponsive last Wednesday at Crow Springs County Park in Wright County. She died Saturday at a hospital in Robbinsdale.
--A fatal accident early Tuesday killed one person in Stearns County. The State Patrol said just after 2:30am a vehicle crossed the center line and collided head on with a semi-trailer. The driver of the car, 28-year-old Michael Blume of Elrosa, died and his 2 year old passenger, Jeremiah Blume of Elrosa is in serious condition. The driver and passenger in the semi sustained non life threatening injuries. Both were from Grand Island, Nebraska.
--An adult and two children were injured Monday when the basement apartment they were in started on fire in Wadena. The Wadena police said around 9:30 they were called with firefighters on Howard Avenue Southeast. All the occupants inside sustained the apartment only had minor injuries. None of the other apartments needed to be evacuated from the fire on Monday.
--One person was injured after losing control of his motorcycle at the intersection of County Road 2 and Jenny Lane in St. Wendel Township Monday just after 6:00pm. 52-year old Richard Klein of St. Joseph, was southbound on County Road 2, about 2 miles north of St. Joseph, when he lost control of his motorcycle and hit a mailbox, which caused him to crash into the ditch. Klein was taken to St. Cloud Hospital and treated for non documented injuries.
--One person was injured on Monday afternoon in a broadside collision in Benton County. The Minnesota State Patrol stated that 70-year-old Charles McQuay of Foreston was eastbound on Highway 23, preparing to turn on County Road 8 when he was broadsided at the intersection by 20-year-old Dayton Embree of Zimmerman. Neither driver was hurt but a passenger in the Embree vehicle, Kayleen Hackenmueller of Zimmerman was injured and taken to the hospital.
--A reminder that a post legislative update is scheduled from 9:00am-10:30am today at Little Falls City Hall inside the council chambers. Both Senator Paul Gazelka and Representative Ron Kresha will be on hand to update the 2016 legislative session and answer questions.
--Governor Mark Dayton announced Tuesday that he is calling on legislative leaders to come back to the negotiating table to salvage a tax relief package and construction projects. The governor also said he hopes to call a special session by the end of the month. Dayton added to the Legislature's pile of unfinished work by letting a $260 million tax relief bill die at Monday's midnight deadline without his signature. He also wants lawmakers to finalize a failed package of public construction projects in a potential special session.
--Soldiers from the Minnesota Army National Guard's 34th Red Bull Infantry Division headquarters will participate in the U.S. Army Europe-led joint, multinational cooperative training exercise Saber Strike 16 in Estonia today through June 22nd. Saber Strike 16 will join units from 13 nations with participation from the United States, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, Slovenia, and the United Kingdom. Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania will serve as primary training locations. The exercise has a total of 10,000 participants, which includes 4,200 U.S. forces from across the U.S. Army, Air Force, Marine Corps. Saber Strike 16 further supports assurance and deterrence measures by demonstrating Allied defense capabilities to deploy, mass and sustain combat power. It will feature the integration of U.S. close-air support with Allied and partner-nation ground forces and a demonstration of U.S. air assets to rapidly deploy forces and equipment.

HS BAB= Little Falls plays Bemidji at noon today in Section 8AAA tournament finals from St. John's. If Flyers lose they play again at 2pm. If they win just one of possible 2 games they head to the state tournament next week. Due to the noon start the AM960 KLTF noon news will be at 11am today with baseball at noon on AM960 KLTF.
HS BAB= Pierz is one win away from the State Tournament in the Section 6AA finals Thursday at 5pm from St. Cloud. If they need a second game it will follow live on FM94 KFML.
TWINS= Brian Dozier's walk off homerun in the bottom of the 11th lifted the Twins to a 6-4 win over Marlins. Eduardo Nunez also belted two homers for the Twins. Game 2 tonight 6:30pm on Q92 WYRQ.
LYNX= Lynx hold off Phoenix 89-81 last night to go 8-0 on season.
