NEWS
--Little Falls Mayor Greg Zylka has proclaimed May 20th Charles A. Lindbergh Day in Little Falls. May 20th marks the 90th Anniversary of Lindbergh's famous flight from New York to Paris being the first transatlantic solo flight in American history in 1927. The city has planned two days of events to mark the Lindbergh event, with live music, car shows, airplane rides for kids, museum tours and more Saturday and Sunday. Get details at fallsradio.com. --Around 7:10am Tuesday the Morrison County Sheriff's Office received a report of an attempted break in at the 2 Tall Tavern previously known as the Hitchin Rail located on Azure Road south of 320th Street in Scandia Valley Township. Morrison County deputies responded to the area and noticed the business was broken into. It appeared that the suspect(s) broke a window to gain entry into the business. According to Sheriff Shawn Larsen, it is believed the suspect(s) left on foot just prior to the deputies arriving. Authorities are looking to speak to the driver of a vehicle of interest observed on surveillance at a nearby business. The vehicle seen was believed to be a late 1990's to an early 2000 model green Caddilac STS four door sedan. If you saw anything suspicious or have information regarding this break in, please call the Morrison County Sheriff's Office.

--Morrison County Sheriff Shawn Larson along with members from Little Falls Police, CHI-St. Gabriel's Health and Stand Up for U Coalition are hosting a Coffee with the Cop event today at 8:30am at Jordie's Cafe in Bowlus. Many topics will be discussed along with Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention at the event today.

--A 1-year old that was critically injured in a two-vehicle accident Saturday around 2:30pm on Highway 23 near Cold Spring has died. 23-year old Joseph Walz of Cold Spring crossed the intersection of 23 and County Road 71 when he was broadsided by a semi truck driven by 61-year old Jeffrey Ditlefsen of Sartell. Walz was treated at St. Cloud Hospital. Colton Walz was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries and died on Monday.

--The Minnesota State Patrol did state on their report that 70-year old Lana Nornberg was driving the wrong way on Highway 10 which led to the fatal accident Monday around 4:00pm that killed a passenger 86-year old Delores Mickow of Wabasha. Alcohol was detected in Nornberg's system at the time of the crash.

--Four people escaped harm early Sunday after a fast moving fire destroyed their Baxter home. Around 2:00am the fire was reported on Madeline Drive. As firefighters arrived the garage was engulfed in flames already. The fire spead quickly to the house which was not able to be saved. The occupants Ken Lacy, Steve Johnson and two juveniles were able to escape the home. Even the family dog escaped without injury. The cause is under investigation. There was a large amount of smoke and toxic gases. It is believed a leak in the garage may have been a factor.

--Residents of an east St. Cloud apartment building extinguished a fire late Monday that had been set in a stairway. The fire was reported just after 8:30pm at 1215 East St. Germain Street. The fire was out before firefighters arrived. The fire marshal was called to investigate. Anyone with information is asked to call the arson hotline. Rewards of up to $5,000 are available for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible.

--A reminder that the last of the public meetings on the Pierz School Referendum which has the vote on Monday is tonight at 7:30pm at Pioneer Elementary. All with questions are encouraged to attend.

--A young teen is dead of an apparent gunshot wound and Princeton Police are investigating the circumstances. Squads were dispatched Tuesday afternoon just before 4:00pm to a residence on 15th Avenue after reports of shots fired. When police arrived they found a 14-year old boy dead, and another 14-year old male still on scene. Police are releasing few details on what led to the shooting, and whether the teen investigators spoke to is considered a suspect in the death. Authorities do not believe there is any ongoing danger to the public.

--Another day care in central Minnesota is under investigation for allegations against the providers. A serious incident report was filed against a Pine River Day Care under license to Candace Hurd. Hurd operated the day care with 8-10 children and three toddlers. Law enforcement stated Monday that the day care provider was on supension and formal charges are through the Cass County Attorney.

--An 18-year-old from Fergus Falls was injured Saturday morning near Staples in Todd County. Kayla Rastedt was on Highway 210 when she drifted off the roadway and rolled in the ditch. She was taken to the Staples Hospital for treatment of injuries.

--The Pierz Community Theater Group announced their next presention will be the Dr. Seuss musical “Seussical” in late August during the Pierz Oktoberfest weekend. There will be open auditions for all in the area to come and rehearse for parts on June 15th and 16th at the Pierz PAC. Any questions call Diane at Pierz High School.

TWINS= Colorado beat the Twins last night 7-3 scoring 4 runs in the 6th to win. Twins and Colorado have Game 2 tonight which may be weather permitting at Target Field, pregame 6:30pm on Q92 WYRQ.
NBA= Boston Celtics received the #1 pick in the NBA Lottery Draft- the Celtics had traded to get the opportunity for the top pick. The LA Lakers got pick #2, the Timberwolves got the 7th overall pick in draft.
