--Governor Mark Dayton will administer the oath of office to Major General Jon A. Jensen during a ceremony this Saturday at 1:00pm at the Minnesota National Guard armory located at 600 Cedar Street in St. Paul. Jensen will be installed as the 31st Adjutant General of the Minnesota National Guard following the retirement of Major General Richard C. Nash who served in the position since 2010. Jensen was selected as a finalist by a committee appointed by Governor Mark Dayton. Governor Dayton announced the appointment in August. Jensen will serve a seven-year term.

--The Pequot Lakes assisted living facility up on charges of neglect has agreed to relinquish their license to provide home care services in three locations. In the agreement Heritage House must transfer the management of its facilities in Pequot Lakes, Kimball and another home care provider by December 1st to Serenity Living Solutions of Sebeka that will assume all administration of client care. The enforcement actions follow after the death of one of the residents ruled neglect by the Department of Health, a sexual assault of a resident by a staff member, a series of compliance violations and a fire in June that was ruled arson.

--The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources announced Monday that it has confirmed zebra mussels are present in Serpent Lake in Crow Wing County and in Dora Lake with connected waters in Itasca County. The DNR is offering tips on their website on helping to stop the spread of invasive species to other waters.

--Crow Wing County said a man suffered a head injury in an ATV accident last Friday near Nisswa. 61-year old Robert Kohls of Nisswa was on County Road 118 and Eagle View Trail when he flipped the ATV on top of him. He was pinned underneath when authorities arrived and was taken to the hospital, then transferred to St. Cloud with a serious head injury. Alcohol was ruled a factor in the crash.

--A 32-year old convicted sex offender from Pillager has pleaded guilty to having sex with a 15-year old girl in St. Cloud. Nicholas Odenthal pleaded guilty Monday to two counts of 3rd degree criminal sexual conduct with a victim between the ages of 13 and 15, and being more than two years older than the victim. According to the criminal complaint, Odenthal had met the girl in August of last year and began a sexual relationship shortly thereafter. The situation came to light after a January traffic stop in St. Cloud where Odenthal was pulled over for expired tabs. The officer noted he was a convicted sex offender with two teenage girls in the car. One of the girls told the officer she was in a relationship with Odenthal. The parents were called and Odenthal was arrested. Court records show Odenthal has a 2008 conviction in Crow Wing County for sexually abusing a child younger than 13. Prosecutors will be asking a judge for a five year prison term when he’s sentenced December 28th.

--Roger Erickson, known for his work at WCCO-AM radio, has died. Erickson died Monday at the age of 89. Minnesotans remember him for his work with Charlie Boone, who retired in 2010 and died in 2015. The Boone and Erickson show was on the air for 37 years.

--The Little Falls Community High School performs Peter Pan and the Star Catcher Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7pm at the newly renovated Charles D. Martin Auditorium. Tickets are $7 for adults and $3 for students at the door of the event those three nights.

--The Little Falls Area Chamber of Commerce has announced their November Employee of the Month is Melinda Fietek from Larson Abstract Company. Melinda has been an Escrow Closer at Larson Abstract Company for the past 17 years. Congratulations Melinda Fietek, Little Falls Area Chamber of Commerce November employee of the month.

--A former Albany man who was convicted on several domestic assault charges in 2011 and served time in prison has been charged with similar crimes against his current girlfriend. 42-year old Brian Andvik of Wheaton is charged with 10 felony charges in Traverse County. The counts include second and third degree assault, felony domestic assault, domestic assault by strangulation, terroristic threats and unlawful possession of a gun. According to the criminal complaint, the most recent beatings took place over the course of three days last week. Andvik has previous convictions of domestic assault by strangulation, second degree assault, first degree burglary, felony harassment and violation of an order for protection involving his then wife in Albany between 2009 and 2010. In that case, Andvik served three years in prison for strangling his wife, holding a gun to her head and pulling the trigger.

--A St. Cloud man is charged with three counts of terroristic threats after he allegedly pointed a gun at several people early Sunday morning. According to the criminal complaint 20-year old Osman Ibrahim was with a group of people when he pointed a gun at one of them as they were leaving the gas station. Police say when they arrived Ibrahim put something in his pocket as he was getting into another vehicle. Police ordered Ibrahim to get out of the car, who refused to obey. He was forced out of the car, brought to the ground and handcuffed. During this process, police say they saw a gun sticking out of his pocket. The gun was later determined to be a BB gun. Ibrahim was arrested and taken to the Stearns County Jail. Along with the terroristic threats, he is also charged with a gross misdemeanor of unlawfully carrying BB gun in a public place.

--Two people were hurt in a rear end collision in southeast St. Cloud. Around 5:40pm Sunday at the intersection of 13th Avenue Southeast and University Drive, a pickup driven by 22-year old Morgan Brunner of St. Cloud was stopped in the westbound lane of University Drive at the stop sign. Another pickup driven by 71-year old Donald Krebsbach of St. Cloud came along and rear ended Brunner’s pickup. In all three people were taken to the hospital for their injuries.
