NEWS
--Morrison County Sheriff Shawn Larsen reports that charges are pending against 26-year old, Jermain Mallin from St Cloud for his involvement in a residential burglary on Hwy 27, east of Little Falls. Around 4:45pm Monday a homeowner called the sheriff’s office and reported their residence was just burglarized. The suspect had entered the residence when no one was home, went through the kitchen cupboards and refrigerator, stealing some food and money. While the homeowner was on their way home they met a male walking on Hawthorne Road north of Hwy 27. Morrison County Deputies were able to locate the male subject, who matched the description of an earlier suspicious person complaint near 160th Avenue in Little Falls Township. The subject 26-year old, Jermain Mallin had the property located on his person so deputies were able to connect him to the residential burglary on Hwy 27. Mallin was placed under arrest for burglary and is being held in Morrison County Jail pending formal charges.

--A reminder from the City of Little Falls that their Fall Leaf and Brush Collection is this Saturday. Residents in one and two unit properties should have their leaves in untied bags at the curb (not in the alley) by 6:00am. Please leave a rock nearby for the hauler to place on the emptied bags so they don’t blow away. Pine needles are not included in this collection, and will be left at the curb. Brush must be no larger than 4 feet in length and 1 inch in diameter, and must be bundled in a manageable fashion. Any questions on the Saturday leaf pickup, call City Hall at (320) 616-5500.

--A 17-year-old teen was injured in a two-vehicle broadside crash north of Crosby Sunday. Around 5:15pm the Minnesota State Patrol reported a vehicle was northbound on Highway 6 and another westbound on County Road 6 when they collided at the intersection. The driver of the first vehicle 17-year old Austin M. Marsh of Brooklyn Park had non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to the Crosby hospital. The other driver Destiny R. Guggenberger, (city and age unknown), and her passenger 21-year old Brianna K. Miles of Bemidji had no apparent injuries in the accident.

--A St. Cloud driver was hurt in a crash near Moorhead. The Minnesota State Patrol says it happened on Interstate 94 around 4:00pm Sunday. Twenty-one-year-old Mohamed Mohamud of St. Cloud taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. his passenger, 20-year-old Mohamud Abdullahi sustained non life threatening injuries.

--A St. Cloud teenager was arrested in connection to a burglary Saturday night. Police were called to a burglary alarm at Max It Pawn. When officers arrived they found the rear glass door of the business had been broken out. Police also spoke to a witness who described a suspect they had seen leaving the business prior to their arrival. Officers set up a perimeter and found a 16 year old boy a few blocks from the scene matching the suspects description. When officers approached the teen, he started to run but was later caught. The suspect was found with both items stolen from the store and the tools used to break the glass. Police say he had been drinking. The suspect was placed in custody and taken to Stearns County Jail for transfer to a juvenile detention facility. He faces charges of second degree burglary, possession of burglary tools, minor consumption/ possession of alcohol, obstructing legal process and curfew violation.

--A control burn was conducted this week by the Minnesota DNR in Belle Prairie Park north of Little Falls. The burn was held Monday and completed early Tuesday.

--A hunter is being credited with finding a lost girl with autism, after she was missing from her home for about three hours. According to the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office, the 9-year-old girl was reported missing around 4:30pm on Saturday from a home on the 14000 block of 45th Avenue Southwest in Raymond. The mother of the child called police to inform them her daughter has autism and had been missing for about half an hour. County deputies responded to the area and began organizing a search for the young girl in the corn fields near her home. Two local pilots also volunteered to fly over the field to help search. The girl was located by a pheasant hunter who was in the area and heard the girl yelling for help around 6:45pm. The hunter, Daniel Kiecker, had been hunting north of where the main search for the girl was taking place. Kiecker is also a volunteer fire fighter with the Lake Lillian Fire Department. Several surrounding departments assisted with the search.

--One person was injured in Wright County early Tuesday morning. 55-year-old Elizabeth Lilly of Shakopee was on Highway 25 at Armitage Road just before 7:00am when she avoided a deer running across the highway and left the roadway and struck the ditch. Lilly was taken to Monticello hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

--Prince's Paisley Park estate is officially a museum. Minnesota's Chanhassen City Council voted unanimously Monday to rezone the late musician's compound. Prince reportedly left "detailed guidelines" for converting his studios into a museum.

--The American Red Cross is holding a blood drive today from 1-7pm and tomorrow from 8am-2pm at St. Francis Convent in Little Falls.

HS FB= Rocori ended Little Falls season 33-7 last night, Upsala Swanville survived over BBE 22-20 to play on Saturday. Royalton and Pierz had byes and play Saturday. Foley and Holdingford both lost their first round matches. Pillager, Staples-Motley & Browerville won. Saturday Pierz hosts Cathedral, USA at Mayer Lutheran and Royalton will host Crosby-Ironton- listen to Little Falls Radio for time & station.
