The Otto Bremer Foundation has awarded $9.6 million in grants and program-related investments as part of its most recent grantmaking cycle. Most of the grants were awarded to twin cities organizations but close to home grants were awarded for $150,000 to Central Minnesota Housing Partnership, Inc. in St. Cloud to build organizational capacity for increasing affordable housing units for low to moderate income households. $50,000 to Central Minnesota Task Force on Battered Women of St. Cloud for general operating support to provide comprehensive services for women and children experiencing domestic violence in Central Minnesota. $35,000 to Hands Across the World of St. Cloud for general operating support to provide basic ESL and workforce development training to newly arrived immigrants and refugees in the St. Cloud area. $15,000 to Lakes Area Interfaith Caregivers of Baxter for general operating support to provide independent living services to low income seniors and persons with disabilities. $50,000 to Stearns-Benton Employment and Training Council of St. Cloud for general operations support to assist job seekers and employers to develop the workforce.
