The Pierz City Council met Monday night. At the meeting the council approved their 2016 budget at $2,470,287. That is roughly $16,000 more than in 2015. The levy was approved at $300,515 with a slightly over 7% increase or $20,000 more from 2015. Crosswalk concerns were addressed on the highway in town and the city is checking with MNDOT on options they have to attempt to slow down traffic for pedestrians crossing.
