A St. Cloud man is facing insurance fraud charges in Wright County, accused of orchestrating a vehicle crash to collect from the company that insured the vehicle. The plan went wrong when one of the two men he is accused of enlisting in the scheme November 3rd was fatally injured during the crash. 34-year old Narong Sithamat is charged with two felony counts of insurance fraud. The court complaint charging him indicates that the man who was the driver of the crashed vehicle, 32-year old Keotavanh Saengchanthalath sustained extensive injuries to his chest cavity, lungs and heart. Sithamat and the other man involved in the scheme, identified in court records as Sip Khotasine, dropped Saengchanthalath off at St. Cloud Hospital, where he died. Sithamat is accused of offering money to Saengchanthalath and Khotasine to help crash the vehicle.
