The man who shot a St. Cloud bar employee after he was kicked out of the bar in late March 2014 was sentenced Thursday to 12½ years in prison. 25-year old Cordney Terell Holmes previously pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree murder. Holmes admitted that he was trying to kill James Alan Gackstetter when he fired five shots at Gackstetter outside a downtown St. Cloud bar March 29th, 2014. Gackstetter was hit three times, twice in the stomach and once in a finger. He survived the shooting. Stearns County District Court Judge Andrew Pearson sentenced Holmes in accordance with the terms of a plea agreement. With credit for the time already served, he will face no more than an additional 10 years, 10½ months in prison.
