The Number 2 leader at St. John’s Abbey in Collegeville has stepped aside because of sexual misconduct allegations involving a former student. The Abbey stated last week that Rev. Tom Andert will step back from public ministry and from his work until an investigation is completed. A letter to the Abbey mentioned alleged sexual misconduct by Father Tom Andert for over three decades, but very few details afterwards. The Abbey reported they are taking the allegations seriously and are investigating the matter thoroughly.
