The Swanville Public School District has a school referendum vote on Tuesday, November 3rd. The polls for those residing in the Swanville School District is from noon-8:00pm on Tuesday at the Swanville School Lobby. The existing authority in Swanville is $385.34 per pupil that will expire after fiscal year 2021. The ballot question will be for an additional $374.66 per pupil with a term of ten years beginning with the fiscal year of 2016-17. If approved the total authority would be $760 per pupil. The yes or no question will read: The board of Independent School District No. 486 (Swanville Public Schools) has proposed to increase its general education revenue by $374.66 per pupil. The proposed referendum revenue authorization would be applicable for ten years unless otherwise revoked or reduced as provided by law. Shall the increase in the revenue proposed by the board of Independent School District No. 486 be approved? By voting yes on this ballot question, you are voting for a property tax increase.
