U.S. Highway 10 for more than an hour after crash

Police responding to a fatal accident around 7:30am Monday closed eastbound U.S. Highway 10 for more than an hour. A car driven by 55-year old Lynn Kaarto heading east on Highway 10 hit a car driven by 89-year old Charles Wall of Pequot Lakes crossing the intersection to go west from Minnesota Boulevard. Wall died from injuries sustained while Kaarto had non life threatening injuries. At the time of the crash the roads were dry and visibility was four miles. The state patrol noted no alcohol was detected in Kaarto’s system.
