US 8th District Congressman Rick Nolan released the following statement Wednesday regarding the house vote on the bipartisan budget agreement. This bipartisan agreement prevents big increases in Medicare premiums and deductible expenses for millions of seniors, protects the Social Security disability program, ensures that our nation will continue to pay its bills on time and keeps the government open for business. The agreement moves us away from the ‘government by crisis management’ and quick fixes that have been so damaging to our nation over the past few years. And we are finally getting beyond the mindless across the board budget cutting known as “The Sequester” – which throws out the good with the bad. No business can operate that way – government shouldn’t either.
