John Thomas from the Wreaths for the Fallen program appeared on KLTF’s community events on Monday. This year the placing of the wreaths on the gravesites of the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls near Camp Ripley will be on Saturday, December 12th at 11:00am. This effort was initiated in 2006 with the placement of only 5 wreaths and has grown exponentially. It is their goal to honor every veteran and family members grave with a wreath each year if possible. The program is growing with additional state veterans cemeteries in Preston and two in construction in Redwood Falls and Duluth areas. This Saturday a annual Pig Roast fundraiser to help fund the effort will be held from 4:30-7:00pm at the Sauk Rapids VFW.
