--At 8:14pm Tuesday the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a male pinned underneath a vehicle at a residence off Iris Road, approximately three miles southeast of Little Falls, in Little Falls Township. According to the Sheriff’s Office, 58-year old Grant Prozinski of Little Falls was found trapped underneath a vehicle in his yard. Deputies arrived on scene and were able to safely extricate Prozinski from the vehicle. It is unknown how long Prozinski was trapped under the vehicle. He was transported to St. Gabriel’s Hospital by Mayo Clinic Ambulance. The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the MN State Patrol, Little Falls Fire Department and Mayo Clinic Ambulance.

--Little Falls Area Chamber of Commerce President Deb Boelz announed this week that in a year when the words "pivot" and "pause" have become a mainstay in our vocabularies, the Chamber Board of Directors have chosen to pivot the Annual Meeting to video to acknowledge the good things that did happen in their organization in 2020. The Chamber will not be holding the traditional in-person Annual Meeting and awards banquet this year, but rather present their award winners and 2020 recap in a YouTube video, a link on the chamber website and with help from the cable access television channel to show the ceremony this year. Boelz stated yesterday that the winners of the Small Business, Large Business and Volunteer of the Year were being notified Wednesday and she will be announcing the winners today live on Little Falls Radio around 8:15 this morning during the morning show on AM960 KLTF and online at fallsradio.com. The presentation on video will be held the night of the event February 25th but no in person event this year. If you have questions contact Deb at 632-5155. She also made mention as of now (everything willing and moving in the right direction), the Little Falls Arts and Craft Fair is on for September 11th and 12th.

--Numbers keep dropping as Morrison County reported only 26 active cases Wednesday and 10 of those in Little Falls Zip Code. The state website reported 669 new cases but 24 new deaths an increase in the recent days. Morrison County had no confirmed cases of the virus yesterday with 1 probable report of COVID-19 on the website.

--The name of the Nisswa driver who died Monday night after crashing into a tree has been released by authorities. At 9:26pm 29-year old Jeremy Drisko Frost from Nisswa was traveling east on County Road 18 in Crow Wing County when he lost control of the vehicle and collided with a tree. Frost was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash is currently under investigation.

--The City of Pierz announced that the cross country ski trails are groomed and can be used at the Pierz Golf Course. Please remember winter parking restrictions. No parking on city streets from 2am-6am until April 1st as streets are plowed overnight and vehicles will be towed. The Library in Pierz has ice skates available to check out. The tentative date for the Pierz Area Garage Sales will be May 19-22nd, and the annual cleanup day will also by May 22nd in Pierz. The Pierz City Council holds their next meeting Monday at 7:00pm at City Hall.

--On Wednesday, Morrison County Deputies recently joined Camp Ripley Military Security with some scenario based training. The Sheriff’s Office values the working relationship and will continue to do everything to keep our military personnel and citizens safe. Morrison County Sheriff Shawn Larsen will give an update on items regarding the sheriff's office this morning at 8:30am on KLTF.

--Over the past several weeks Morrison County Public Health has been administering COVID-19 vaccinations to the Phase 1 population. Morrison County Public Health has been following the guidance set by Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) to identify those who fall into the Phase 1 population and working through limited allocations of vaccine. Some groups that were invited to be vaccinated as Phase 1 include healthcare workers, first responders, and group homes with high risk clients. Morrison County Public Health is working closely with local healthcare and pharmacies to expand reach. At this time, Morrison County Public Health is not vaccinating the general public, including those that fall in the 65+ population. Morrison County Public Health is not taking names for a waiting list. They continue to expand their reach for vaccines at Morrison County Public Health as vaccine becomes more readily available. Their ongoing goal is to get vaccine out as quickly as possible to the identified priority populations without vaccine waste.

--Today will begin the longest stretch of winter cold weather we have seen this winter. Snow showers this morning, mixed with some freezing drizzle overnight will lead to a slippery start, during the day the winds pick up 15-30mph and blowing snow a possibility. Temps will drop into the single digits by later afternoon. Friday temps around 10 above or colder then -15 Friday night, -4 for the high on Saturday, -20 Saturday, coldest day and night will be Sunday with a high of -8, low of -26. Friday and Saturday could also have wind chill factors of -15 to -35 at times. The cold stays Monday through Wednesday next week with temps for highs around 0 or a bit below and lows in the teens below zero. The temps will return to the upper teens and even 20s by next weekend for Valentines Day.

--Holy Trinity School Principal Debra Meyer-Myrum stated yesterday during the special KLTF Party Line during Catholic Schools week that unfortunately they will not be allowed to an inperson type School Carnvial this year on March 14th. Meyer-Myrum stated they will go with the type of event they did last October for the Steak and Wine fundraiser which raised over $120,000 for the school. --Royalton Schools will be holding their kindergarten information night virtually this year. Go to the Roylaton Schools facebook page for detailed information on how to log on to the event, Monday at 7pm.
