Establishment of training programs and other programs designed to enable station personnel to acquire skills that could qualify them for higher level positions. Chris Grams, General Manager, Ron Specker, Operations Manager and Whitney Gunhus, Broadcast Personality, attended this seminar in 2022.

Owner and employees participate in numerous civic and service organizations including, but not limited to, Little Falls Chamber of Commerce, Minnesota Broadcasters Association, Randall Commercial Club, Pierz Area Commercial Club, Kiwanis Club of Little Falls, Victory League Baseball, Flyer Athletic Association, Kinship of Morrison County, Morrison County Fair Board and other community organizations to further the goal of disseminating information about employment opportunities.

LITTLE FALLS RADIO IS SEEKING A RADIO STATION MANAGER

JOB DESCRIPTION AND EXPECTATIONS
The Station Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of Little Falls Radio Corporation (KLTF-KFML-WYRQ) (“LFRC”). The Station Manager will lead the management team, full-staff, broadcast, news and marketing efforts of LFRC. The Station Manager will work with management team and General Manager to establish the station’s objectives and provide the leadership and motivation to station staff to ensure they are met.

The Station Manager is responsible for recruiting and retaining employees, managing staff welfare and morale and maintaining the station’s professional culture. The Station Manager is responsible for internal communication with all staff members as well as external communications – representing the station at the local level and building relationships within the community. The Station Manager will maintain all records necessary for compliance with FCC, EEO, human resources and industry codes governing broadcast stations. These documents will be relied upon by the General Manager to maintain compliance. As a commercial station, the Station Manager will be primarily focused on maximizing revenue for LFRC and maintaining its budget and resources.

As such, the Station Manager will:
- Be able to generate original ides and to think creatively about how to communicate them.
- Have excellent communication skills, complemented by diplomacy.
- Exercise sound judgment.
- Be able to lead with confidence and decisiveness.
- Be able to coach and develop talent in others (and seek out coaching personally).
- Be able to give and receive constructive feedback and manage performance.
- Have knowledge of the LFRC market and competition.
- Be able to work calmly and effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Be able to manage creative teams and encourage acceptable risk taking.

- Have knowledge of the law, ethics and industry regulations for radio broadcasting purposes and local community acceptability.
- Understand the requirements of Human Resources and keep accurate records.
- Maintain the facilities and equipment necessary to operate LFRC to high standards.

General Manager participates and Little Falls Radio sponsors an annual Business Insights seminar in the fall.

Offer and utilize an internship program designed to meet the needs of the student.

LFRC offers tours to groups at various times during the year. Groups include Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, 4-H, Girl Scouts and any organization or individual who requests a tour.

LFRC submitted a request for the Summer Youth Employment Program organized by Rural Minnesota CEP.

Staff and management participated in Radio Group 20 seminar in April 2015 sponsored by DDS Sales Training. Establishment of training programs and other programs designed to enable station personnel to acquire skills that could qualify them for higher level positions. DDS Sales Training is hired to consult with Little Falls Radio on an annual basis (since 2010) to help with new employees and current marketing representatives to help them reach their fullest potential. DDS Sales Training does on site training two or three times per year. Chris Grams, General Manager, and Melanie Lintner, Sales Manager, are involved in the initiative.

Management participated in Business Fair at Little Falls Community High School on December 2, 2015.
