--Today is Good Friday. In the Bible, today is when Jesus is crucified on the cross. Because of many Good Friday services this afternoon many businesses may be closing early today, some banks and other offices may close for staff to attend services this afternoon. Other business may close for a few hours and reopen so best to check ahead. You can join AM960 KLTF today at noon for the Good Friday Service based at Faith Lutheran Church in Little Falls. --A man accused of murder in Mille Lacs County and his girlfriend, who is accused of aiding in the murder, made their initial court appearances Tuesday on the criminal charges. Bradley Allen Weyaus was charged March 23rd with second-degree murder, fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle, interference with a dead body or scene of death-concealing a body and evidence in connection with the death of Rodney Pendagayosh, whose body was found in a tote along the shores of Mille Lacs Lake. Weyaus’ girlfriend, Alexis Marion Elling, 21, of Rochester, was arrested at a gas station in Onamia March 23 and charged with felony aiding an offender as an accomplice after the fact. Both Weyaus and Elling made their appearances in Mille Lacs County District Court before Judge Gail Kulick via Zoom. Elling made her court appearance from the Kanabec County Jail. Weyaus was told in court the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe would not be representing him due to a conflict of interest. Both Weyaus and Elling are being represented by public attorneys. Elling and Weyaus remain in custody. Weyaus next court date is June 20th. Elling is April 18th.

--The Morrison County Sheriff's Office is asking you to save the date for the next Coffee With a Cop event. The event will be on May 16th at Brick's Travel Center in Motley. Discussion will be about what law enforcement and others are seeing throughout our county and how you can help. All are welcome to the event May 16th in Motley.

--A St. Cloud man has pleaded guilty to a charge where he shot another man in the stomach last November. 32-year-old Vincent McDougle has pleaded guilty to the felony discharging of a gun and endangering safety. St. Cloud Police responded to a report of a shooting inside an apartment in the 1400 block of 9th Avenue South on November 12th. Authorities say when they arrived, they found the victim, a 31-year-old Minneapolis man, with a gunshot wound to the stomach. He was taken to St. Cloud Hospital in serious but stable condition. Police say McDougle was also at the scene and arrested without incident. Authorities learned the victim was visiting McDougle and the men got into an argument that became physical. McDougle then pulled a gun on the victim and they struggled again. During that struggle, McDougle fired the gun and shot the man in the stomach.
McDougle will be sentenced on June 21st.

--The Sartell-St. Stephen School District is holding a special free presentation for families about social media and the effect it has on students. A group of students from the middle and high schools is coordinating it. The event is Monday, April 10th, at 6:30pm in the Sartell Middle School Performing Arts Center. District 748 families are invited to hear from staff with the Central Minnesota Mental Health Center, who will educate parents and students about the impacts of social media on students’ well-being, setting limits, common social media platforms, options for parental controls, and reporting concerns online. The students will also debut a public service announcement video they made about the dangers of being online.

--Little Falls City Administrator Jon Radermacher will be the guest on KLTF Community Program Monday at 8:30am on items in the city of Little Falls and then on Friday next week, County Administrator Matt LeBlanc will be on the program to discuss the county items. --There are more fish fries tonight in Pierz by the Pierz Fire Department, St. Mathias Baseball team has one in St. Mathias, there are other establishments continuing the fish fries tonight. Pierz Lions has an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday at 11am at Pioneer Elementary playground, the Upsala Lions have an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday at the Upsala school football field scheduled at 10am they ask for kids to be 4th grade or younger, First Lutheran Church is hosting their Easter Eggstravaganza from 9:30-11:30am on Saturday for kids up to third grade to participate and also there will be an Easter Breakfast served after their 8:30am on Sunday. There are many other Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday services and Masses around the area this weekend to take in the real reason for the Easter Season. --The second of three people involved in the Sauk Rapids murder-for-hire case has been sentenced. A Benton County judge has ordered 26-year-old Katrina Hunt to serve three years in prison. She gets credit for having served nearly eight months in the county jail. Hunt pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting 1st-degree assault back in February. Twenty-year-old Christian Kane pleaded guilty to 1st-degree attempted murder and was sentenced to 15 years in prison. The ring leader behind the crime, 51-year-old Maria Foster pleaded guilty to 1st-degree aiding and abetting attempted murder. She'll be sentenced on April 28th. Foster hired Kane and Hunt to kill her husband.

--Looking ahead many towns have selected dates for the area festivals this summer. A few dates to keep in mind are the Little Falls Dam Festival June 16-17; The Morrison County Fair is early this year and will be June 22nd-24th, Randall Independence Day Celebration July 1st; Bowlus Fun Day July 2nd; Swanville Mid Summer Carnival July 7-9; Royalton Platte River Day July 29th; Upsala Heritage Days August 12-13th; and Pierz Oktoberfest August 27th. --The Pierz City Council meets Monday at 7pm at Pierz City Hall.

GOLF= The Masters continue and conclude this weekend in Augusta, Georgia as golfers fight it out for the classic green jacket.
