NEWS
--Around 6:15am on Wednesday the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office received multiple reports of damage to property that occurred in the city of Royalton. According to the sheriff’s office, the reported damage included vehicles that were spray painted, a porta potty that was lit on fire at Memorial Park, picnic tables and park equipment that were spray painted, signs that were knocked down and spray painted, damage to a pool at a residence, a mailbox that was spray painted and a new construction home that was entered and damaged. Morrison County Deputies have investigated this matter and have located two suspects. According to the Sheriff’s Office, 21-year-old Austin Dalton of Royalton and a 16-year-old juvenile from Royalton have been taken into custody. The case has been turned over to the Morrison County Attorney’s Office for review of felony damage to property charges.

--The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office has identified the male subject who was driving the red moped on Hilton Road. The subject came into the Sheriff’s Office and shared his side of the story after hearing about the news release and his story was collaborated by a witness. The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the public for their assistance in this matter and we continue to encourage the public to contact our agency regarding any suspicious activity.

--Little Falls Community Schools are holding registration week August 13th through the 15th for all families of the district both new and returning. Registration week will be Tuesday August 13th from 12-7pm, Wednesday August 14th from 8am-3pm and Thursday, August 15th from 12-7pm. There is no need to set up an appointment just find the time slot that works best for you. Parents and Guardians during this time will be able to get student information and emergency contact formers, free and reduced lunch applications, activities forms, setup Skylert notifications, specific bus route information, make food service payments, pay fees, get health forms and early childhood education information. --A St. Cloud man is charged with raping a 12-year-old girl multiple times over the several months. According to the criminal complaint filed in Stearns County District Court, the girl told authorities that 19-year-old Benjamin Shatraw had intercourse with her over 100 times since February. Shatraw is charged with two counts of 1st-degree criminal sexual conduct with a victim under 16-years-old and a significant relationship. Records show investigators interviewed Shatraw who admitted the allegations. A court date is pending.

--Morrison County Historical Society is hosting a Preservation Talk by National Register Historian Denis P. Gardner. As the National Register Historian of the Minnesota State Historic Preservation Office, he reviews the eligibility of properties for the National Register of Historic Places. He also assists people with the process of nominating properties to the Register. Gardner will be giving a talk about historic preservation at The Charles A. Weyerhaeuser Memorial Museum on Saturday, August 24, 2019, from 11-12:30pm. During his talk, he will be discussing the renovation of Minnesota's State Capitol and the history of the National Register of Historic Places. This event is free, but reservations are requested by August 23, 2019. To make reservations the historical society at 320-632-4007.

--The Little Falls City Council meets Monday at 7:30pm at the city hall council chambers with a work session scheduled to begin at 6:30pm.

--The Crow Wing, Benton and Stearns County Fair continue into the weekend with many events at each site. Crow Wing County has their Baja races tonight and Saturday and a number of events for teens today and kids on Saturday in Brainerd. The Morrison County Fair is next Thursday-Saturday at the Morrison County Fairgrounds, Clint Kathrein of the Morrison County Fair will speak on KLTF Party Line on Monday at 10am to address all the events this year at the fair.

--A 61-year-old man was found deceased Tuesday, July 30, at Gregory’s Resort on Mille Lacs Lake off Highway 169 in Garrison. The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office was called at 9:17pm. When deputies arrived at the resort they found a man inside a residence with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The body of the male was transported to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy. No foul play is suspected and the public is not at risk.

--A 62-year-old Sartell man was found dead Wednesday, July 31, in Gull Lake in Lake Shore in Cass County. The Cass County Sheriff’s Office were called just after 7pm and upon arrival, deputies located the body in the water, near Grassy Point on the north end of Gull Lake near Grand View Lodge Spa and Golf Resort. The body was transported to the Ramsey County Examiner’s Office for an autopsy to determine the cause of death. Sheriff Tom Burch reports the incident remains under investigation.

--A busy weekend of events, corn boil tonight at Immanuel Lutheran in Hillman with burgers and corn on the cob, there is a free will offering corn feed and pulled pork dinner at Swanville Lions Park this evening and they will also have a free concert on Sunday night. Saturday is Platte River Day in Royalton, parade at 11am and a full list of events at fallsradio.com, Scandia Valley Summerfest is Saturday in the Lincoln Lakes area with fireworks Saturday night, St. Joseph's Church Bazaar is Sunday with mass at 10am and events through the afternoon lots of food, including Old Bank Pizza, bingo and a raffle at 4:30pm and there is another Ski Loons waterski show on Sunday at Lum Park in Brainerd at 5pm Sunday.
