--Monday is Labor Day a federal holiday meaning all government offices such as city halls and the government center are closed. Banks are also closed. Many businesses including Little Falls Radio are also closed Monday for Labor Day and will reopen Tuesday. Schools will be closed Monday and many will start the 2018-19 school year Tuesday morning so watch for the return of students and school buses. The Minnesota State Patrol is reminding motorists to expect delays on roadways through the weekend. Always remember to buckle up and drive sober. This year authorities are stressing not to drive when on prescription medication that specifically states not to drive or being on illegal narcotics which can also lead to an arrest. Little Falls Radio hope you and yours have a safe Labor Day.

--After adopting a resolution at the school board meeting on Wednesday, it has been announced that Pierz will be joining the Granite Ridge Conference in 2019. Becker will be dropping out and replaced by Pierz. Other members of the Granite Ridge Conference include Little Falls, St. Cloud Cathedral, Foley, Albany, Mora, Milaca, Zimmerman and starting next year Pierz. This will not impact football schedules because in football they play in districts, not conferences.

--A 25-year old Brainerd man faces six felonies after breaking into two Brainerd residences, sexually assaulting two women and stealing various items from them while they were sleeping. Phillip Brent Carter Jr. was charged with four felony first-degree burglary counts, assaulting a person in a residence while possessing a dangerous weapon, felony fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct for assaulting a helpless victim and fourth-degree attempted criminal sexual conduct of a helpless victim. Report stated that a woman reported she awoke to a man she did not know in her residence touching her leg and attempting to pull a blanket off her. After told to leave, the man did not say anything and quickly walked out the front door. The woman stated her three minor children were sleeping downstairs, the woman called police back and said a number of gaming items were stole. Then another call Monday morning before 6am for a report by another woman who also woke up with a man inside her residence. The second woman gave police a similar description of the man as the initial victim did. The woman was sleeping in her bed with her 3-year-old daughter when she woke up to the man touching her. The woman screamed and the man fled from the house. The woman found pill bottles and other items tipped over, at which point she realized her purse had been gone through and cash, cell phone and other items were missing. Officers located the suspect, who was identified as Carter, on a bike trail and he was arrested. Searching Carter, officers found the stolen items reported by the two women.

--A teenage girl was hit by a car while walking across the street in downtown St. Cloud. The Minnesota State Patrol says it happened at about 6:15pm Wednesday. A car driven by 22-year old Kylie Nelson of Watertown, South Dakota was going north on 4th Avenue when she stopped at a stop sign, then started to make a right turn onto Highway 23. That's when she struck the girl in an unmarked crosswalk. 13-year old Dashia Rogers of Eau Claire, Wisconsin was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

--Due to Labor Day Monday, the Little Falls City Council will meet Tuesday at 7:30pm at Little Falls City Hall. This will be preceded on Tuesday night with a work session at the council chambers.

--The Little Falls Carnegie Library has been closed for the last week due to a lightning strike. The building reopened Thursday afternoon to the public and will be back on regular hours today.

--Morrison County Sheriff Shawn Larsen spoke on Little Falls Radio about various topics. Including the recent thefts in Richardson Township and also near Bowlus where items were stolen and homes attempted to be broken into. Larsen says to be vigilant and watch for suspicious activity. If you encounter a burglary in process call 911 and given the most descriptive information possible to help the sheriff's office. Larsen discussed school starting back up next week. We all need to watch for buses and student pedestrians. The sheriff talked about ALICE, their alert program when a lock down process or intruder with a weapon has entered a school or business. If you wish to have an ALICE training for your school or business scheduled, contact the sheriff's office. Sheriff Larsen also discussed the benefits of having a mobile command center and the drones. These tools have become major parts of the sheriff's office works to find missing persons and lead to arrests in crimes. Sheriff Larsen wishes all a Happy and Safe Labor Day holiday. --On Wednesday the Benton County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of an aircraft accident in Minden Township. About 6pm Wednesday the Benton County Sheriff’s Office was advised that a fan powered parachute style aircraft had crashed into a tree on private property on 25th St NE. Responding deputies arrived on scene and found a still-occupied aircraft suspended in a tree about 50 feet in the air. Deputies on the ground were able to talk to the pilot, 71-year old Roger Harold Violet, Sr. of Sauk Rapids, who was secured in the pilot’s seat of the aircraft. Violet reported having non-life threatening injuries. Sauk Rapids firefighters were able to free Violet from the aircraft and bring him to the ground for evaluation by medical personnel. Investigating deputies learned that the crash occurred just after Violet, a licensed pilot, had lifted off from the ground near the site of the crash, did not gain enough altitude and crashed into trees.

HS FB= due to the threat of bad weather, Dassel-Cokato at Little Falls in football has been moved to 1pm today on AM960 KLTF.
TWINS= Indians win 5-3 Thursday to win 2 of 3 over the Twins in that series. The Twins are at Texas tonight, pregame 6:30, Saturday also pregame at 6:30 and Sunday at 1:30pm on Q92 WYRQ.
CLASS C= Sobieski vs. New London Spicer at 11am Saturday followed by Buckman vs. Lake City at 1:30pm both in Shakopee from Class C State Tournament on AM960 KLTF. If both teams keep winning then both could play twice Sunday and once Monday.
FB= Gophers win 48-10 last night, Vikings win 13-3 in preseason.
