--Carla Zupko of CHI St. Gabriel's Health spoke on AM960 KLTF Thursday morning on the vaccine process at the hospital right now. Zupko said they are getting vaccine slowing and were able to vaccinate 300 of their employees and vaccinated 500 school employees and staff members in the area and going back again next week if the vaccine is avialable to do their second doses for schools. Zupko said they are getting supplies from the State and also from Morrison County but the numbers are smaller than some other hospitals because they are considered a smaller health care organization. This past week 100-200 vaccines were available at CHI to give out to those on a patient list of those 65 and older. She knows it is frustrating but right now they cannot take any phone call for appointments as that actually makes it more difficult to keep calling out the patients on the list. Zupko stated that Phase 1 is completed of vaccinated all health care workers and high risk patients, phase 1A is the next level with educators, child care workers and other patients considered most likely to get the virus also the next phase 2 includes all 65 and older to receive the first dose of the vaccine. Again this depends on the number of vaccine they receive from the state and county to distribute to those on the list. Zupko did state that right now she does not know when the vaccine will be available to the general public but she hopes that will be soon as she knows many are asking to receive the vaccine but that all depends on the federal and state government to send out to the health care facilities.

--The State Legislature is considering adjusting the walleye and panfish limits during this legislative session. The current law allows for possession and daily limit for walleye at six, and must not include more than one walleye over 26 inches in length. The proposal calls for that number to be cut down to four fish. The DNR informed legislators that increased fish pressure can lead to over harvest. The DNR says there is no biological evidence indicating that this change will make a big difference. No word on when the State Legislature would vote on this measure which could start for the May opener.
