NEWS
--At 12:37pm on Wednesday the Morrison County Sheriff's Office received a report of a one vehicle accident with possible injuries near the intersection of 160th Avenue and 173rd Street, approximately two miles northeast of Little Falls in Belle Prairie Township. 20-year old Antonio Stroia of Little Falls was traveling north on 160th Avenue and ended up losing control which caused him to go into the west ditch hitting a snow bank and then went airborne. Stroia was transported to St. Gabriel’s Hospital via ambulance with unknown injuries.

--Dick Knopik from the Social Security Office Dick informed Little Falls Radio of a new type of scam. In the latest scam, local residents may get a phone call and an option to dial a number (for example dial one or zero to reach your local Social Security office). If you use this option you would be connected to the local Social Security Office, however the scammer is still listening on the other end of the phone call gathering your personal information. Since Social Security would be unable to tell that you used this option to call, as per their normal protocol they would ask you to verify your information like your birthdate and social security number. That is how the scammer gets your information. This is yet another type of scam you should be aware of so you don't fall victim. If you need to contact your scoial security office or any other agency that may require you to verify your personal information, don't use the connection services offered on a different call. Instead, hang up with those who called you and call directly yourself so you know that no one else is listening in. Dick Knopik has been a staple on AM960 KLTF for nearly 30 years. Dick announced yesterday that he is retiring from the Social Security Office in March and yesterday was his final appearance on KLTF Party Line and wanted to thank all the listeners with their worthy questions and concerns over the years regarding Social Security.

--The Little Falls Community High School most recent athletes of the month were 11th grader Jackson Grant in Nordic Ski and 12th grader Kali Schirmers in Gymnastics. Coach Mattia Hendrickson says: Jackson has been the number one finisher for boy’s ski team in every single race this season as well as placing at the top of each race among a very competitive section including this year’s top state ranked male. His many great finishes have been a key factor in the team's success this season. Jackson has not only grown as an athlete this season, but also as a leader. In the face of his success, Jackson has remained humble. Jackson is extremely dedicated to skiing and his hard work and determination have led him to his success. Coach Rachelle LeBlanc says: Kali Schirmers is a senior and captain for the Flyers Gymnastics team! She always comes with a good attitude to practice and uplifts her teammates and encourages them in and out of the gym. She is always a bright light in the gym and she will be missed greatly next year. She is very close to joining the “9.0 Club” for the team, and works everyday to achieve this in the next competition. Kali, before this year had never competed all around and when asked to compete beam for the team, she gladly did and now she is our number two all arounder!
