Now, it has been postponed until August 1st, 2019. The drawdown has been in the works for about five years. This is the second time it has been postponed.

--Phony IRS calls are circulating the area once again. The Better Business Bureau of Minnesota and North Dakota says scammers tell the consumer a debt is owed and must be paid immediately. The BBB says the IRS will never call to demand immediate payment, threaten to get police involved, or ask for credit or debit card numbers over the phone. They only initiate contact through the mail. If you received one of these scammer calls you're reminded to hang up. Never give out your personal information over the phone and then contact the Federal Trade Commission or Federal Communications Commission to file a complaint if you receive these calls.

The money is going into building a new restroom facility, reconstructing the wading pool and resurfacing the tennis courts. Then the other tennis court will be turned into a pickleball court and a half basketball court. More of the money will also go into building a new playground set, but the city wants the community input on one of three designs. The city is still waiting for the agreement to be signed before construction can begin. If all goes as planned they expect construction to begin by spring.

--Pointing to its "Build out the Store" mission, United Natural Foods, Inc. (UNFI) announced Thursday that a deal has been struck to acquire Minnesota-based Supervalu for approximately $2.9 billion. The deal calls for UNFI to acquire Supervalu for $32.50 per share in cash. UNFI Chairman Steve Spinner will lead the combined company.
