NEWS
--On Wednesday the Pierz Area Food Shelf moved to a larger location. The food shelf moved from behind the Fire Hall to just north of the Fire Hall on Main Street. The new address is 220 Main Street South in Pierz. With the help of around 25 volunteers the move only took a couple hours. The Pierz Area food shelf hours are unchanged and still open Mondays from 9:00-11:00am and 5:00-7:00pm. The food shelf is also available by appointments by calling 468-7134. Pat Zimmerman from the Pierz Area Food Shelf stated they have done very well with donation from the community support, but could always use more food and or money as donations. Whatever anyone is able to donate is very much appreciated.

--At 1:52pm Wednesday the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a one-vehicle accident on 203rd Street, approximately four miles north of Little Falls in Belle Prairie Township. According to the Sheriff’s Office, 55-year old Kenneth Myers from Little Fallls was traveling east on 203rd Street. His vehicle went off the road and hit a tree. Meyers was taken to St. Gabriels hospital with serious injuries.

--The Morrison County Historical Society has created C-19 symbols to be displayed on windows and doors. The four colored symbols signify the following: Yellow C-19: A person in the household has died of COVID-19. Blue C-19: A person in the household has survived COVID-19. Orange C-19: A family member or friend who does not live in the household has died of COVID-19. Green C-19: A family member or friend who does not live in the household has survived COVID-19. These symbols are meant to make the victims of the pandemic visible within their communities and to indicate how many people have been affected by the disease. The Orange and Green C-19 symbols are intended to show how the disease is affecting people who cannot be together due to quarantining, such as those who have family members with COVID-19 in nursing homes or serving in the military. The C-19 symbols can be downloaded from the Morrison County Historical Society’s website. --A St. Cloud man who worked at a Benton County adult group home has been charged with sexually molesting four women. According to the charges, 54-year old Eric Roberts would sexually assault the women in their bedrooms with the door locked. All four women have developmental disabilities and are under legal guardianship. The women said Roberts would touch them sexually and commit other sex acts against their will. Court records indicate the victims said he would do this every time he worked. They also said Roberts would tell them he loved them and not to tell anyone. Roberts had worked at the home since June 2019 and last worked May 12, 2020. The situation came to light when an employee overheard two of the victims talking abuse the sexual assaults. Court records show Roberts denied having any sexual contact with the women and said he would sometimes give them hugs and kiss them on the cheek. He is charged with two counts of 3rd degree criminal sexual conduct and four counts of 4th degree criminal sexual conduct.

--The Lone Eagle Car Club in Little Falls is putting on some car shows next week to get people back out again to local establishments. Wednesday 5-8 at Urban Legend Bar & Grill in Harding and Friday 5-8 at the Starry Eyed Brewery north of the Little Falls. All are welcome to come and view the cars. Questions call Mike 763-350-0058.

--USDA’s Farm Service Agency will begin accepting nominations for county committee members on Monday. Elections will occur in certain Local Administrative Areas for these members who make important decisions about how federal farm programs are administered locally. All nomination forms for the 2020 election must be postmarked or received in the local FSA office by August 1, 2020. Agricultural producers who participate or cooperate in an FSA program, and reside in the LAA that is up for election this year, may be nominated for candidacy for the county committee. Individuals may nominate themselves or others, and organizations, including those representing beginning, women and minority producers, also may nominate candidates. Committee members are vital to how FSA carries out disaster programs, as well as conservation, commodity and price support programs, county office employment and other agricultural issues. Nationwide, more than 7,700 dedicated members of the agricultural community serve on FSA county committees. Producers should contact their local FSA office today to find out how to get involved in their county’s election. Check with your local USDA service center to see if your LAA is up for election this year. To be considered, a producer must sign an FSA-669A nomination form. --The Little Falls School Board meets Monday at 5pm at the Community Middle School Media Center. They will approve filing affidavits for candicacy for general election of school board members. Approve changes to school calendar and 1,300 devices with cases using the CARE's act funding for the school district.

--Another cancellation due to COVID-19 the annual Holdingford Daze events for the second weekend in July has been cancelled. It will return for July 9th and 10th in 2021.

SPORTS
BAB= Minnesota Gopher pitcher Max Meyer was taken third overall in the Major League Baseball draft to the Miami Marlins. By being taken third overall Meyer is the highest drafted Gopher player since Paul Molitor was drafted third by Milwaukee Brewers in 1977. With the 27th overall pick the Twins selected power hitting first-basemen Aaron Sabato from University of North Carolina.
TWINS= catch another Twins game from 2017 this Sunday where it was a big day for Byron Buxton- Sunday at noon on Q92 WYRQ.

FLAG DAY HISTORY
Sunday is Flag Day. It was June 14th, 1777 the Continential Congress adopted the official form of the U.S. Flag of the Stars and Stripes for the Nation of the United States of America. The story is that Betsy Ross is credited for sewing the first flag to be used by the soldiers during the American Revolutionary War against British forces.
