NEWS
--At 10:41am Thursday the Morrison County Sheriff's Office reported that 30-year-old Kaylee Bohnen of Little Falls and her two children have been found and they are safe. The Sheriffs Office wished to thank everyone who assisted in locating them.

--John Korzeniowski of the DNR Forestries in Little Falls wished to remind residents of the increased fire danger. This week for example his office has responded to two baler fire. There were no injuries in either incident but in one of those fires particularly extensive hay was burned. Their office is concerned with strong winds, high temperatures and low humidities that fire danger could be even higher Friday. He reminds everyone to be cautious at this time and if you are working with machinery in the high heat that it would be a good idea to have a fire extinguisher nearby.

--The Minnesota National Guard has been instructed Wednesday to be prepared to assist authorities in Minneapolis. A spokesman for Governor Tim Walz issued a statement that indicates he has given the Minnesota National Guard a warning order that instructs National Guard leaders to begin preparing to assist law enforcement in Minneapolis if needed. The statement noted the National Guard has yet to receive any operational orders. The City of Minneapolis has been squaring off against protesters who have repeatedly erected barriers to shut down a section of Lake Street which then the site of demonstrations since a recent fatal officer-involved shooting in a nearby parking ramp. Yesterday, heavily armed Minneapolis officers cleared away the barricades to reopen the busy roadway, where a woman was killed Sunday night when a speeding SUV smashed into a car parked on the street to serve as a barricade. The driver of the vehicle has been charged with second-degree murder.

--A controlled burn is being blamed for a fire that destroyed two sheds south of Eden Valley Tuesday. The Meeker County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to the 34000 block of Highway 22 in Manannah Township at 4:30pm. Deputies arrived to find two sheds had burned on the Gregory Euerle property. Items in one of the sheds were a complete loss and the contents of the other shed had significant damage. No one was hurt in the fire and crews from Eden Valley and Litchfield were able to put out the flames.

--One St. Cloud family was displaced after an apartment fire Wednesday, according to a critical incident report from the St. Cloud Fire Department. At about 12:29pm Wednesday, St. Cloud Fire Department responded to an apartment fire on the 1700 block of University Drive SE, according to the report. A fire had started in a bedroom of an apartment unit, and fire crews were able to contain it to that room. The family was not injured, according to the report. The fire caused an estimated $45,000 in damage to the apartment.

--Agram Township residents are invited to the Fourth Annual Township Picnic to be held on Thursday evening June 24th at the Town Hall located on Lake Road. This is a great opportunity for families and neighbors to take time out of their busy schedule to come together for an evening of food and friendly conversation. Plan to arrive anytime after 5pm with food being served at 6pm. Residents are asked to bring a “potluck” dish to share and their beverage of choice. Hotdogs and lemonade will be provided. --Tomorrow is the 44th Carousel of Crafts at St. Mary's Church in Little Falls from 9am-3pm stop by and see what is in the parking lot.

--Its Little Falls Dam Festival weekend. Events today include a sidewalk sale, music at Maple Island Park starting at 3pm with Laverne and the Starlites and then Double Trouble DJ Friday night, through the night with food vendors and the a food drive for the food shelf. Tomorrow bike ride and River Rat Race in the morning, then parade at 11am from City Hall to the Hospital right now First Street, you can watch from either side of the street. Little Falls Radio will be in the parade so watch for them. Then more events from 12pm on at Maple Island Park to enjoy with music by Brothers Tone starting at 1pm and more live music that night. --Minnesota State Troopers were busy between June 4 and June 10 getting drivers ignoring the speed limit. Troopers cited 1,567 drivers for speeding compared with 454 during the same period last year. Troopers also cited 18 speeders going 100 mph or more between June 4-10 compared with nine during the same time period last year.

--Governor Tim Walz has ordered flags at half-staff on Saturday, June 19th for the lives lost of COVID-19. The governor has continued to order flags at half-staff on the 19th of each month since spring 2020.

--Living Hope Church announced they will be having their family fun day on August 15th from 10am-1:30pm. There will be a free lunch after their service (optional to attend the service), free inflatables, giveaways, bingo, free cotton candy and other fun activities. NATIONAL NEWS
--President Joe Biden Thursday signed a bill passed in the U.S. Senate and The U.S. House to declare Juneteenth a Federal holiday beginning next year June 19th, 2022. Juneteenth is a legal holiday in some states like Texas when Union Soldiers informed Galveston that the Civil War had ended and all slaves were emanicpated.
