NEWS
--On Wednesday authorities responded to a remote location in Crow Wing County of a medical emergency that turned out fatal. At 5:37pm the sheriffs office received a call from an individual who reported a medical situation on a remote trail in the Stewart Lake area in Timothy Township. The male reported that he was assisting the victim, 71 year old, David Willard Zvorak, of Pine River in attempting to get his ATV unstuck. It was then that Zvorak appeared to suffer a medical episode, falling to the ground, unconscious. Emergency personnel had a difficult time locating Zvorak and several became stuck on the trails themselves. A MN DNR Officer was the first to locate the victim and attempted lifesaving efforts. Shortly after, Deputies, North Ambulance personnel, and the Ideal Fire Dept. arrived on scene and assisted. After some time of lifesaving efforts, Zvorak was pronounced deceased on scene. Sheriff Scott Goddard said, “This was a difficult rescue situation due to the very remote area and the conditions of the trails. I want to thank all agencies and personnel involved for assisting on the tragic event.” The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Ideal Fire Dept., North Ambulance, MN DNR, and the Crow Wing County Drone Team.

--Sartell Police say the suspect involved in a drive-by shooting last month has been arrested. Forty-seven-year-old Gregory Parker was found in Olive Branch, Mississippi early Wednesday morning. Back in April authorities say a 56-year old man was driving his car when another car pulled up to him and fired a shot at his vehicle and fled the scene. Sartell Deputy Chief Wayne Schreiner says the Desoto County Sheriff's Department received a positive hit from a license plate reader at the Tennessee/Mississippi state line matching the license plate and saying the driver was wanted by Sartell Police. Deputies found the vehicle and arrested Parker for his outstanding warrant and he was taken to the Desoto County Jail.

--St. Cloud Police are looking for witnesses who may have seen a drive-by shooting along West St. Germain Street Wednesday afternoon. Dispatch received calls shortly after 12:00pm that multiple gunshots were being fired involving two vehicles in the 2900 block of West St. Germain Street. Officers arrived on scene and were unable to find either vehicle. However, there was evidence found at the scene indicating shots had been fired from one vehicle toward another. No one has reported any injuries and there was no damage found at the scene. The St. Cloud Criminal Investigation Unit is handling the analysis of the incident and it does not appear random. If anyone has information on the incident, call the St. Cloud Police Department or Tri-County Crimestoppers.

--On Thursday May 9th members of the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office and agents of the Lakes Area Drug Investigative Division (LADID), assisted the FBI in executing a search warrant at a residence located on the 27000 block of Beaver Dam Drive in Pequot Lakes. Arrested in the investigation was 33-year old Nicholas Ronald Wynn. While executing the FBI warrant, agents located a large amount of methamphetamine. LADID agents then applied for and received another search warrant for the narcotics.
