--Local artist Charles Kapsner will unveil his fourth portrait of the U.S. Armed Forces, The Marine Corps on Saturday at 2:30pm at the State Veteran's Cemetery Committal Hall. The portrait will join the ones already finished for Army, Navy and Coast Guard. The portrait will also be on display during the State Cemetery's Memorial Day Observance program starting at 1:30pm Sunday. The program will feature, music from Richfield Symphonic Band and also musicians from Grey Eagle, speakers and a parade of flags. If you are unable to attend, AM960 KLTF plans to rebroadcast the program on Monday morning at 9am and streamed at fallsradio.com.

--A privately owned condo building within the gates of Breezy Point Resort burned to the ground Wednesday. The fire was reported about 9:40pm Wednesday as Breezy Point, Pequot Lakes, Nisswa, Crosslake and Mission fire departments were on scene along with law enforcement officials from the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office along with the Breezy Point and Nisswa police departments. Bob Spizzo, owner of Breezy Point Resort, said the Lakeside Loft building destroyed by fire was not owned by the resort. There were no known injuries, and the condo was quickly evacuated and the cause of the fire was not determined.

--Over 400 law enforcement agencies will be out in force across Minnesota this Memorial Day Holiday weekend watching for unbuckled and impaired drivers. The Memorial Day weekend in the past has been one of the deadliest weekends on Minnesota highways leading to hundreds of accidents, dozens of fatalities and hundreds of DWI arrests. The hope of this campaign is by getting the word out of extra law enforcement on roads, that arrests and accidents can be avoided by drivers obeying laws. That will allow this weekend to focus on fun and remembering the real reason of Memorial Day.

--Morrison County Filings for office on Wednesday included Brian Middendorf for Morrison County Attorney, and John Ulrick for Soil and Water Supervisor in District 4. In the US 8th Congressional District, Republican Pete Stauber filed on Wednesday.

--The St. Cloud Fire Department rescued 24-year old Abdijamal Mohamed from the Mississippi River at about 2:35pm Wednesday near 5th Avenue North. A tweet put out by St. Cloud police around 4:00pm said Mohamed was in the river "screaming for help." Mohamed was helped out of the water by St. Cloud Fire Department and taken by ambulance to St. Cloud Hospital.

--Minor injuries were reported in a crash between a horse and buggy and a car. The incident occurred shortly before 8:30am Wednesday at the intersection of Todd County Roads 11 and 14 near Clarissa. 22-year old Felty Yoder of Long Prairie was going north when his horse drawn buggy struck a car going east driven by 68-year old Susan Lorentz of Eagle Bend. Yoder and his passenger, Anna Yoder, were not hurt. Lorentz was taken by personal vehicle to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

--Faith Assembly of God Church in Pine River was gutted by fire Wednesday. About 2:30pm Wednesday a fire was reported and the church was "fully engulfed" in flames when firefighters arrived. The Pastor was able to remove and save many of the valuables from the church. The fire is believed to have started in a corner of the sanctuary. No one was injured in the possibly electrical fire.

--Monday is Memorial Day, a federal holiday on the 4th Monday in May to remember all who have given the ultimate sacrifice for the United States of America serving in the armed forces. There are a number of Memorial Day programs, services and special events happening on Monday to remember our fallen heroes. Most offices, businesses and government agencies will be closed on Monday for Memorial Day.

--Little Falls Radio has learned of the death of former Morrison County Commissioner Jeff Schilling who died early Thursday at the age of 60. Funeral arrangements are pending for Jeff Schilling.

--A St. Cloud man has been sentenced to 20 days in jail and must pay more than $2,500 in fines, fees and assessment costs after trying to pay a 15-year old girl for sex. 41-year old Ryan Mulliner will also be on probation for 10 years after pleading guilty to a felony count of Prostitution - Offering to hire someone believed to be 13-16 years old for sex. Mulliner was arrested in a prostitution sting in November 2016. According to the criminal complaint, Mulliner told investigators he went to the hotel to try to convince the girl to stop prostituting herself. Records show, however, text messages from Mulliner included terms commonly associated with buying sex from a minor.

--Brainerd Police were notified by the Minnesota Department of Corrections of a Level 3 Predatory Offender that will be residing in the city limits. 57-year old Terrance Lindmark will be released Tuesday from prison and has a history of sexual contact with young girls between the ages of 4 and 10. Since Lindmark resided in Brainerd in the past before his prison sentence there will be no community notification meeting. Information on Lindmark can be found on the Brainerd police social media sites.

--Congratulations to the graduating class of 2018 as Pierz, Pillager, Royalton, Swanville and Long Prairie-Grey Eagle hold graduation ceremonies tonight. Upsala is Saturday afternoon and Little Falls has theirs in the gym Sunday at 2:00pm. Good luck to all graduates.

TWINS= Twins had yesterday off but did reinstate Miguel Sano off the disabled list with a hamstring strain. The Twins are in Seattle this weekend. Pregame tonight and also Saturday night is at 8:30pm, Sunday the pregame is at 2:30pm on Q92 WYRQ.
SB= Little Falls wins with a walk off 5-4 over Fergus Falls and now will take on Alexandria Monday at 2pm in Sartell. If Little Falls wins they would play again at 4:00pm in Sartell. Games on KLTF.
BAB= Pierz baseball playoffs begin Monday on FM94 KFML.

The offices of Little Falls Radio will be closed Monday in honor of Memorial Day and reopen Tuesday at 8am. There will be no newsletter on Monday.
