NEWS
--The Little Falls Catholic Community has released their plans for this weekend Masses due to Governor Tim Walz last Saturday announcment that public Masses could resume with 25% capacity or 250 people whichever is less. Pentecost Sunday Schedule: 4:30pm Saturday at St. Mary’s (Live-streamed), 8:30am Sunday at St. Mary’s, 10:00am Sunday Drive-in Mass at Holy Family (south side of parish hall), 10:30am Sunday at Our Lady of Lourdes (Live-streamed). There will be many guidelines including churches will be only filling our churches up to 25% capacity, or 250 maximum. The obligation to attend Mass continues to be suspended. Those who aren’t feeling well and who have serious preconditions should stay home and take the opportunity to participate online. Doors will be propped open. Sanitizer stations will be on the way in. All available pews will be sanitized before and after Mass, pews are roped off to keep social distancing, ushers will be trained to help seat people for social distancing, hymnals have been removed, Special instructions for Holy Communion will be implemented to keep 6 foot distancing, tape on the floors will facilitate the process keeping people distanced during communion. There will be limited liturgical ministers (1 reader, 2 musicians, and priest), Priests will sanitize before AND after communion, There will be no congregating before and after Mass. Father Ben also announced that Visitation will take place on Monday, June 1st, from 5:00-7:00pm at St. Mary’s Cathedral, St. Cloud, and will continue on Tuesday, June 2nd, from 10am-1pm for Father Nicholas Landsberger who passed away Tuesday night. A limited number of visitors will be allowed in the church at any one time and physical distancing guidelines must be observed. In light of the pandemic, to lessen the risk of all involved, Bishop Kettler will celebrate a private funeral service (which will be by invitation only). Burial will take place immediately after the funeral service at Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud. You are invited to be present for the burial; however, they would ask that you follow the guidelines of physical distancing and the instructions of the funeral directors.

--At 1:48pm Wednesday the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a two-vehicle accident involving an ATV with possible injuries at the intersection of 153rd Street and the Soo-Line Trail near 330th Avenue, approximately six miles east of Pierz, in Hillman Township. 71-year old Bradley Ver Bout of Green Valley, AZ was traveling west on 153rd Street as an ATV driven by a 13-year old male from Pierz was traveling east on the Soo-Line Trail. The ATV pulled out in front of Ver Bout’s vehicle and a collision occurred. The 13-year old male was transported by ambulance to St. Gabriel’s Hospital with unknown injuries. No one in Ver Bout’s vehicle was injured.

--A man was seriously hurt after falling from a St. Cloud parking ramp Wednesday morning. St. Cloud Police were called to the Paramount Ramp at 931 1st Street North around 8:20am on a medical emergency. Police arrived to find a man had fallen off the upper ramp and suffered substantial injuries. He was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with unknown injuries. No foul play is suspected but the incident remains under investigation.

--The Little Falls City Council meets Monday night at 7:30pm at Little Falls City Hall Council Chambers. Some may still attend the meeting via teleconference or online. A work session will precede the meeting.

--The Grand Casino Mille Lacs and Hinckley announced they will be reopening at 9am on Monday June 1st. All need to wear a mask.

--Latest COVID-19 numbers show that Morrison County has had one more case of COVID-19 making 41, Todd County upped to 296 cases of COVID-19 with another 35 deaths in the state on Thursday.

--Governor Walz Thursday signed Executive Order 20-65, activating the Minnesota National Guard to help protect Minnesotans’ safety and maintain peace in the wake of George Floyd’s death. The National Guard Adjutant General will work with local government agencies to provide personnel, equipment, and facilities needed to respond to and recover from this emergency. Additionally, the Minnesota State Patrol will assist in public safety efforts for the next several days. Approximately 200 troopers will work with state, county, and local community and public safety partners. State Patrol helicopters and fixed wind aircraft will also be available to assist law enforcement officers on the ground. This Executive Order also declares a peacetime emergency, which activates the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) to help coordinate the state’s response. As the SEOC is already activated due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it will concurrently support the COVID-19 response and the City of Minneapolis and surrounding communities during this situation. Last night the protests continued and turned violent in St. Paul causing a number of stores including Target Corporation to close their 14 Twin Cities Metro Area stores until the protests can be resolved.

--Filings are open for Federal, State and County Races. The deadline to file is 5:00pm on Tuesday, June 2nd. County Commissioners will be elected in Morrison County District 1, 2 and 3 this year. Two people, Incumbent Jeffrey Jelinski and Robert (Bobby) Kasper have both filed for District 2 County Commissioner. District 1 and District 3 Incumbents Mike Lemieur and Randy Winscher have both filed for reelection and are thus far unopposed. Morrison County Soil and Water Board Members for District 1, 2 and 5 are also up for election. No filings yet for these positions. Filings for City Council, School District and Townships with November Elections are conducted from July 28th, thru August 11th. Filings are done with the local city, school district or township.

--Sartell Police are asking for your help in finding a missing teenager. Police say 16-year old Brian Arbizu Jr. was last seen leaving his home on April 30th. Authorities say his phone is off and he has not been in contact with his friends or family. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Sartell Police Department.
