Morrison County Sheriff Shawn Larsen wanted to share the following message for drivers: A reminder that road conditions can change quickly, so we need to do our part to keep ourselves and each other safe. If driving in snow and ice brake slowly and gently; decrease your speed and increase your following distance with all other traffic including snowplows; be cautious of slippery spots on the roadway to include bridgedecks and overpasses; if it's raining, snowing or decreased visibility make sure your headlights are on; make sure you check road and weather conditions before any travels; dress for the weather and always have a charged cellphone and full tank of gas. Law enforcement sees an increase of traffic accidents every year when road conditions change. Please prepare accordingly for the conditions and always give yourself plenty of time to get to your destination safely.
