NEWS
--Due to the weather today, Tim Bjorge, principal of Little Falls Community High School announced Thursday that the homecoming parade for this afternoon for Little Falls Community High School has been canceled due to the weather and the pep fest scheduled for the morning will now be held at 1:30pm this afternoon the high school.

--Join Little Falls Radio and participating sponsors for the tailgate party from 5-7pm tonight before the Homecoming football game for the Little Falls Flyers against Zimmerman. You can get a brat and pop or a slice of pizza and pop for three dollars and all proceeds go to Flyer athletics in Little Falls. Also the first 150 people receive a free pair of gloves from Central Minnesota Credit Union. The tailgate party is in the Little Falls Middle School parking lot, and it was announced that tables will be set up inside the Middle School for those who wish to eat indoors and not to brave the elements outside.

--A presentation of a check for $25,000 to the Upsala School District will be held next Wednesday during the Royalton/Upsala-Swanviille football game in Upsala. The school is receiving the $25,000 grant to enhance their science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) curriculum through America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education sponsored by the Bayer fund which will be used for the Grow Rural Education funds to purchase a waterjet cutter to improve students’ CNC, design, and fabrication skills. With this equipment, students will be able to fast prototype, create, build, and cut creations and parts of their own design. The check presentation for the Upsala School District will be at the Upsala Football field (across the street from the school) located at 415 South Main Street during halftime of the football game next Wednesday. Al Windsperger will be live on the field during halftime for the presentation and you can hear it live during the Roaylton/USA football game Wednesday at 1:30pm on Q92 WYRQ and fallsradio.com.

--The Minnesota Supreme Court says the city of Brainerd violated state labor laws when it restructured the fire department and dissolved the firefighters union. The city says it was within its managerial rights to move to part-time firefighters without benefits in order to save money. But, the Supreme Court said in a ruling Wednesday that those managerial rights do not allow it to interfere with the union. The high court ruled eliminating full-time union jobs is an unfair labor practice. The attorney who represented the Firefighters Union Local 4725, Marshall Tanick, said the case is important because of its effect on public unions and municipalities.

--A Sartell man faces one count of first-degree aiding and abetting the sale of drugs from taking part in the sale of more than 25 grams of methamphetamine. 24-year-old Justin Thomas Pallister was arrested after a police arranged sale was done from a Sartell residence to purchase meth from a woman. Pallister, and the informant met Danielle Dvorsak. She and Pallister exchanged money for a package later confirmed in field tests as 25.8 grams of meth. Dvorsak was arrested October 4th after investigators discovered about a pound of meth and a handgun when searching a Sartell address. Pallister could face 30 years in prison and a $1 million fine.

--Enrollment is down again at St. Cloud State University. As of October 1st, 12,608 students are attending St. Cloud State this fall. That is down 859 from 2018 and 2,484 students less than just three years earlier in 2016.

--A very busy weekend of events including Charles Kapsner salon with sketches of his military paintings and others is tonight 6-9pm at Great River Arts and is free of charge, Truck or Treat event at Morrison County Fairgrounds 5-6:30pm today-stop by with the kids (rain or shine) and get treats from any businesses for a donation to the schools, White Sidewalls playing at Falls Ballroom at 7:30 tonight which is a fundraiser for the St. Gabriel's Advocates. There is a steak and Wine Dinner for Holy Trinity School Saturday night in Pierz, The Heartland Symphony is performing Saturday night in Little Falls and Sunday afternoon in Brainerd, meatball supper in Grey Eagle Saturday, quilt bingo Sunday at Holy Trinity in Pierz, KC breakfast Sunday at St. Rita's in Hillman, Buckman Lions breakfast Sunday at Graham United Methodist in Rice, 9th annual Bouja feed at Our Lady of Lourdes of Little Falls on Sunday, plus there are many more events that can be viewed at fallsradio.com.

--The Pierz City Council meets Monday night 7pm at Pierz City Hall.

NATIONAL NEWS
--It was announced Thursday that Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits for nearly 69 million Americans will increase 1.6 percent in 2020. The 1.6 percent cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) will begin with benefits payable to more than 63 million Social Security beneficiaries in January 2020.
