--A warning and scam alert from Little Falls Community High School Principal Tim Bjorge and Activities Director Kevin Jordan that the school was made aware of what appears to be somewhat professional-looking student folders of Little Falls Community High School. The school in a statement said that “no one associated with Little Falls Community Schools is selling these student folders. If someone comes to your business looking for you to fund this student "gift" through "American Youth Group, Inc.," please do NOT invest in this.” The school said that this may be an image of text that says 'PublishedBy merica Groupt TAKEONE FREE IF LITTE FALLS COMMUNITY Hen SCHOOL Promoting High Standards of Excellence and Achievement with local businesses attached and their phone numbers listed. Again this is a scam, not authorized by the schools.

--Little Falls Community High School also announced their Homecoming Week schedule beginning with coronation of Queen and King on Monday at 7pm. Homecoming royalty for LFCHS this year include King candidates Dylan Becker, Patrick Brisk, Riley Czech, Collin Kray and Nicholas Popp and Queen candidates Ella Bjorge, Mikayla Houdek, Catherine Janey, Maizee Katherine and Sunny Savard. 9th Grade Representatives: Luke Avery and Marah Zehr; 10th Grade Representatives: Isaac Olson and Brooke Adamek; 11th Grade Representatives: Hudson Filippi and Korrin Gwost. Other activites include on Friday, October 8th a pep fest at 10am, the parade is scheduled at 2pm in Little Falls around the schools, Powder Puff Football at 4pm, the Tailgate Party from 5-7pm in the Middle School Parking Lot with help from area sponsors, Little Falls Radio and proceeds going to Flyer Athletic Boosters, the game between Little Falls and Zimmerman at 7pm Friday and then the homecoming dance after the game until Midnight all to support Flyer Pride.

--Pequot Lakes firefighters were in the middle of a business meeting Wednesday at the fire department when they were paged to a structure fire at Pequot Tool and Manufacturing in Jenkins. Firefighters were called just before 9pm. A piece of equipment had malfunctioned and was smoking. All the night shift workers evacuated from the machine shop. The workers waited in the parking lot as firefighters went to work. It was a minor incident, firefighters wheeled out the smoking piece of equipement and workers were allowed back in the building. No injuries reported.

--A 21-year-old Walker man was injured Tuesday, Sept. 28, when the truck he was driving crashed along Highway 200 east of Whipholt in Cass County. The Minnesota State Patrol was called at 10:36 p.m. to the crash. A Ford F-250 was traveling east on Highway 200 when it lost control and rolled west of Cass County Highway 39, in Pine Lake Township, north of Longville. The driver, Tyler D. Hausken, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to CHI St. Joseph's Health in Park Rapids. Alcohol contributed to the crash, the state patrol reported. The Cass County Sheriff's Office and North Memorial Health Ambulance assisted at the scene.

--Authorities believe an Atwater man had a medical condition that caused him to leave the road and crash his vehicle Wednesday morning. The Meeker County Sheriff's Office said 42-year-old Trevor Berger was northbound on Highway 4 and as he approached the intersection, went off the right side of the road, continued through the ditch, and struck a BNSF Railroad utility box around 7:18am on Wednesday. Berger had non life threatening injuries.

--The Little Falls Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce their October Employee of the Month, is Mike Barnes from Hilmerson Collision Center. Mike has worked for Hilmerson Collision Center prior to Jeff and Michelle Waldvogel purchasing the business in 2002. Jeff and Michelle Waldvogel, state about Mike, “Mike brings years of expertise to our facility. He is honest, reliable and hard working. Making him a valuable employee we can always count on Mike! Congratulations Mike”. Congratulations Mike Barnes, Little Falls Chamber October employee of the month.

--Next week is Fire Prevention Week. The Pierz Fire Department is having an open house Wednesday from 4:30-7pm at the fire hall. Free hotdogs, chips and water served by retired firefighters. Tours of the newly remodeled fire hall, educational demos and a Jaws of Life Demo at 6pm ending with drawings for prizes at 7pm that night. Fire Prevention Week is October 4th through the 9th and other fire departmnets like Foley and St. Cloud held open houses over this past weekend to kick off the week. In another note Little Falls Fire Chief Craig Seelen will be on the KLTF Community Program Monday morning after the 8am news to give tips on preventing fires.

--Events this weekend include Jason Schommer and Michael Shynes performing tonight at Great River Arts at 7:30pm, tickets sold at the door tonight at 6:30pm. St. John's in Swanville has their large craft fair event tomorrow, breakfast at the Little Falls Senior Center on Sunday 8am-12pm and Blessing of the Animals Sunday at noon at Washington Park in Little Falls. COL FB= Gophers vs. Purdue Saturday pregame at 9am, kickoff will start at 11am on AM960 KLTF before the pregame the Sports Wrap looks back to the week in high school sports and also chatting with our local volleyball coaches this week at 8:30 Saturday on KLTF.
NFL= Vikings host Cleveland Sunday at noon.
CLC= Central Lakes College stated that with the pandemic last year and recent coaching transitions they have cancelled the 2021-22 women's basketball season this year for CLC.
