NEWS
--Lt. Governor Cathy Wogen inducted the Little Falls Kiwanis Club Board Officers for 2021-22 including Chris Grams as President, Steve Priola Past President, Kristina VonBerge President Elect, Krystal Fox Secretery, and Jon Rademacher as Treasurer. They also honored Jerome Haaland (42 years) and Wayne Scherling (55 years) for their years of service. The Kiwanis Club meets Thursday's at noon at the Little Falls Country Club. --The Sisters of the Order of St. Benedict have donated a home in St. Joseph to the Habitat for Humanity of Central Minnesota. Three of them lived in the house until 2020 because their housing at the monastery was full. Sister Patricia Ruether says when the home was no longer needed, they decided the community needed it more than they did. Habitat for Humanity is in the process of renovating the house. They are putting in new insulation, adding new siding, and adding two new bedrooms in the basement. They are hoping to move a family into the home in late next summer. Meanwhile, Habitat for Humanity in Morrison County has a groundbreaking scheduled this coming Tuesday, October 12th on their 21st house which will be located on 12th Street Southwest in Little Falls. They also have a fundraiser with a hypnotist schedules on October 28th. For tickets or information call 616-2084.

--The number of schools the Minnesota Department of Health says has an increase in numbers of COVID-19 continues to grow. On the weekly report to schools it showed that six schools in Benton County, 18 schools in Stearns and 13 in Sherburne were listed of having at least 5 students or more out with COVID-19, on quarrantine of being in contact with someone with the virus or family members were in contact or have the virus. The list showed 4 schools in Morrison County, the Little Falls Community High school and Community middle school along with Royalton Elementery and Middle School. Five schools in Crow Wing County including Brainerd and Pequot Lakes senior high schools. Cass County showed Pillager High School, Three schools in Mille Lacs County and another three schools in Wadena were listed on the MDH website.

--The Minnesota State Patrol is reporting more accidents in northern Minnesota of vehicles striking bear. Two were injured earlier this week when their vehicle struck a bear in Mahnomen County and then other accident happened last weekend in Clearwater County. In the past weeks the DNR stated that bear have been on the move with cooler conditions to prepare for winter, black bear especially are roaming areas where food, campfires and other spots where trash and debris could be out. Watch your children and animals in the evening and later hours when the cooler temps have a tendency to have bear roaming in the areas. If you spot or locate a bear and it does not leave, contact local authorities or your DNR officer.

--An accidental kitchen fire damaged a St. Cloud home Wednesday evening. The fire department was called out to 24150 block of Franklin Road at 5:45pm. A homeowner had extinguished most of the flames by the time fire crews arrived. The fire caused an estimated $12,000 in damage and displaced three people. The fire department stated that no one was hurt from the fire.

--A reminder that with the homecoming game in Upsala starting at 2pm, there is an early release for both Upsala and Swanville Schools today so that students can attend the game this afternoon at 2pm.

--Central Minnesota is experiencing peak fall colors. Central Minnesota is at peak now and will likely stay there for another 2 weeks or so. Northwest and northeast Minnesota are past peak. This would be a great weekend to view the fall colors from Brainerd to Bemidji before they diminish, also Alexandria north and east toward Long Prairie and to Little Falls are at 50-75% peak right now to view.

--Little Falls Community Schools will have parent-teacher conferences over the next few weeks, the Middle School and High School are next Monday the 11th, the elementery schools will have theirs in the following weeks ahead so check with your local schools and your student's teachers for times and locations for your conferences.

--Another busy weekend of events including Immanuel Lutheran Church near Hillman 100th Anniversary event tonight, the church was established on October 3, 1921 and in 2005 moved to the current location at the junction of Highway 27 and County Road 47 north of Hillman there will be silent auction, meal and music tonight. The Charles Lindbergh Historic Site is having a presenation on the Crime of the Century of the Lindbergh baby kidnapping on Saturday from 1-3pm all are welcome to attend, The St. John's Lutheran Church in Grey Eagle Meatball supper Saturday, there is the Steak and Wine fundraiser for Holy Trinity School of Pierz Saturday night with meal and then auction to take place at Frosty's in Pierz. There is a bouja feed at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Little Falsl on Sunday from 9:30-12:30pm, plus Homecoming events and games today and tonight for Upsala, Swanville, Holdingford and Little Falls. The Homecoming Parade begins at 2pm by the Middle School, then before the game join Little Falls Radio and participating sponsors for the Tailgate Party for Homecoming from 5-7pm, pizza and pop for $3 and proceeds go to help Flyer Activities then stay for the game.
HS FB= Melrose at Pierz tonight 7pm on 94ROCKS KFML.
HS FB= Browerville at Upsala/Swanville at 2pm today in Upsala, it's homecoming for the USA Patriots, hear it live on Q92 WYRQ. There will also be a tailgate party starting at 1pm by the field in Upsala.
COL FB= The Gopher Football is off this weekend and return to action next Saturday vs. Nebraska at 11am on AM960 KLTF.
NFL= Vikings host Detroit Sunday at noon.

IN 1950= at 10am AM960 KLTF officially went on the air and for the past 71 years KLTF has continued to be part of many lives bringing news, weather, Party Line, Up Front and othe programs. The station has said for years “Thanks for Listening” to KLTF. A look of programs past can be heard Saturday starting in the noon hour.
