--At 6:32pm Wednesday the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a one vehicle accident that turned out to be a fatal incident on Harvest Road, south of Iris Road, approximately two miles south of Little Falls, in Little Falls Township. According to the Sheriff’s Office, 39-year-old Aaron Mielke of Little Falls was traveling south on Harvest Road when his vehicle left the roadway and hit a tree. Mielke was ejected from the vehicle and sustained serious injuries. Mielke was transported by Mayo Clinic Ambulance to St. Gabriel’s Hospital and then airlifted to St. Cloud Hospital where the hospital reported that he later died. This case is still under investigation.
--A woman was hurt in a two-vehicle crash in Morrison County. The Minnesota State Patrol says it happened just after 7pm Wednesday on Highway 25 at 93rd Street in Buckman Township in the town of Buckman. A car driven by 73-year old Rita Tesch of Clarissa was going west on 93rd street when it went through a stop sign and struck another car. Tesch was taken to St. Gabriel's Hospital for treatment of injuries. The other driver and his passenger, were not hurt.
--A Waite Park man is dead after he was hit by a semi-truck Thursday morning. The accident happened just after 8:30am on Highway 27 southwest of the town of Wheaton near the Minnesota/South Dakota border. The Minnesota State Patrol says the truck driver, 37-year-old Nicholas Hunter of Glenwood, was on 650th Street and was trying to back onto Highway 27 in Traverse County when he struck the 24-year-old pedestrian, killing him. More details have not been released.
--Steve Smith and Maryrose Knutson of CHI St. Gabriel's Health stated yesterday on Little Falls Radio that currently if you have a loved one in the hospital, two healthy visitors can visit them, during that time all must stay masked and if you have been in contact or tested positive for COVID-19 you may NOT visit the hospital patients at that time and if the patient tested positive for COVID-19 they will be restricted from any visitors during the quarrantine period. In the Emergency Department they are not allowing any visitors at this time unless it is for the pedeatric department or if the patient cannot answer questions correctly or without assistance. Recently there has been a higher volume of patients in the Emergency department and with that longer wait time. For the Clinic beginning Tuesday, September 28th the clinic will only allow one visitor during the time of the appointment in the clinic waiting room. Steve Smith said they are doing their full list of surgeries. Knutson did stated that in the past two weeks they have seen an uptick of COVID-19 cases as the days get colder and cold and flu season also starting up again. Knutson stated that more changes are possible in the future so stay tuned and they will send out information on the latest developments from the hospital. Smith also made clear that nursing homes, assisted living facilities and other elderly care facilities have also increased some regulations and restrictions but because they follow their own set of rules you would need to call each of the facilities themselves for their latest information. The hospital thanks those for their patience and understanding at this time and reminds all who enter that you still need to mask up when coming into any of the buildings.
--Holy Trinity School in Pierz will be having their annual school marathon today. The Marathon for Catholic Education begins at 1:30pm motorists are asked to watch for students, teachers and volunteers taking part in the marathon this afternoon in Pierz.

--All K-12 students were evacuated from Osakis Public Schools Thursday morning after a bomb threat was reported to the district. In a video message to families posted just after 8:30am, Superintendent Randy Bergquist said the district received an email that there was a bomb inside Osakis Public School. Bergquist said Osakis Police, Douglas County police and the local fire department responded to look through the school for suspicious items. In an update posted at 9:35 a.m. parents were asked to pick up their children for the day. K-6 students were sent to the Osakis Community Center while 7-12 grade students waited to be picked up at the Osakis Lutheran Church. Law enforcement have checked all lockers and found nothing on a dangerous nature.
--The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension has found a missing teen in Idaho and thanks all for the help. Cienna Azure-Descheuquet from Redwood Falls was reported missing from a girls' group home in Willmar on September 11th. She has been found safe.
--A reminder that Royalton will be hosting their Homecoming parade today starting at the Catholic Church at 5pm down Birch Street to Nature Road and to the high school. Motorists should expect delays as many will be coming to watch the parade and then to the high school for a cookout and the game at 7pm to root on the Royals.
--A 28-year-old from Mora was injured in an accident in Mille Lacs County. Around 2:50pm on September 19th, Zachary Olson of Mora was on Highway 169 when he struck a trailer tire of a boat being pulled by 61-year-old David Myers of Barrows. Olson was taken to North Memorial in the Twin Cities with injuries deemed serious but non life threatening from the Minnesota State Patrol.
