--20-year-old, Lucas Timothy Boros of Little Falls, was charged in Morrison County District Court with one felony count of fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle. According to the criminal complaint, on April 17, a deputy from the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office was on routine patrol on Highway 238 in Morrison County when he observed a sports motorbike pass him at a high rate of speed. The officer wrote in the complaint that he clocked the bike passing him at 91 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone. The deputy turned to catch the suspect bike, but the driver didn’t stop. The driver was eventually identified as Boros. The deputy activated his lights and siren in an attempt to make the traffic stop, but Boros increased his speed, according to the complaint. He was clocked again, allegedly traveling at speeds between 110 - 115 mph. The vehicles got into the city of Sobieski with a 30 mph zone, Boros was said to have continued traveling at 90 mph. The pursuit continued for approximately 12 miles, according to the complaint, and a one point, the deputy lost sight of Boros. Later, the deputy decided to check Boros’ residence and observed a truck pulling out of the driveway. It was driven by a young male subject, who was later identified as Boros. During a statement to law enforcement, Boros allegedly admitted he saw the deputy with his squad car lights on. He added that he got scared and “tried to outrun” the deputy. If convicted, Boros could receive a penalty of three years imprisonment and/or a $5,000 fine.

--Three people were hurt, one seriously, in a three-vehicle crash south of Foley. The Minnesota State Patrol says it happened at about 6:45pm Thursday at the intersection of Highway 95 and Highway 25. A commercial truck was going west on Highway 95 when troopers say it went through the stop sign and struck a pickup, and then a car that was stopped at the intersection. The driver of the pickup, 25-year-old Rebecca Kalstad of Big Lake, was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with life-threatening injuries. A passenger, 54-year-old Rhonda Krueger of Clear Lake, was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A two-year-old girl in the pickup was not hurt. The driver of the commercial truck, 22-year-old Andrew Himel of St. Joseph, was hurt but was not taken to the hospital by first responders. The driver of the car was not hurt.

--Sentencing for Derek Chauvin the ex-police officer convicted in the murder of George Floyd will be sentenced on June 16th. The presumptive sentence being addressed would be around twelve and half years in prison as he has no criminal record before this.

--Royalton High School announced its top 10 honor students for the graduating class of 2021. Naomi Ferguson is the daughter of Hannah Heller, Isaiah Hall, son of Stephanie Schroeder and Desi Hall, Anna Meemken is the daughter of Adam and Linda Meemken, Amanda Waletski, the daughter of Judy and Dave Waletski, Jenna Kull is the daughter of Lynn and Lyn Kull, Rylee Johnson, the son of Kevin and Natalie Johnson, Lillianna Swenson, the daughter of Jonathan Swenson and Katie Partain, Aubrey Krueger is the daughter of Amy and Isaac Krueger, Annalise Rundquist, the daughter of Steve and Emily Rundquist and Samuel Zimmerman is the son of Doug and Karen Zimmerman Graduation ceremonies at Royalton High School are set for Friday, May 28.

--Morrison County Website continues to show the numbers going down in the county. 151 active cases on Friday, Little Falls was at 64 cases, Pierz 33, Royalton 26, no others over 10 cases.

--A reminder from Morrison County Public Health that for the vaccine clinic on Wednesday there are NO walk ins and you need to make an appointment for the one Wednesday if you want to have a scheduled appointment for the second dosage on May 26th. Again registration is required by calling 320-632-6664, sooner than later.

--Two Teenagers one from Kensington and another from Brooten both died in a head on crash in Douglas County Thursday night. The 19-year-old from Brooten has been identified as Joseph Feldman. The girl's name has not been released.

--Two people are recovering from injuries they suffered when their sport utility vehicle hit a bear in east-central Minnesota. Reports say 19-year-old Tyler S. Peterson and 20-year-old Cynthia Thompson, both of Brainerd, were northbound on Highway 25 in Crow Wing County on Friday night when they hit the bear, went off the road, and overturned. The Minnesota State Patrol says both were wearing their seat belts. They were taken to a hospital with non serious injuries.

--Minnesota recorded its 100th traffic death of the year on Wednesday, marking the earliest point in a year that the total has hit triple-digits since 2016. Reports say two teenagers were killed in a crash Thursday near Alexandria, bringing the statewide count to at least 102 as of Friday morning. According to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety's Office of Traffic Safety, that's 20 more deaths than at the same point last year. Speeding and alcohol were a factor in 60% of the deaths. The fatalities include 82 motorists, 11 pedestrians, two bicyclists and two motorcyclists. Preliminary reports show 394 people died on Minnesota roads in 2020 (364 in 2019).

--The family of former U.S. Vice President and Senator Walter Mondale stated that a memorial service will be held but not until September in both Minnesota and Washington D.C. Mondale died last Monday at the age of 93.

TWINS= Twins get a shut out win over Pittsburgh Friday night with pitcher C.A. Hamp having a no-hitter into the 8th inning to win 2-0. Pittsburgh then beat the Twins Saturday 6-2 and the same outcome on Sunday as Pittsburgh wins again 6-2. The Twins are in Cleveland tonight with the Indians pregame 4:30pm on Q92 WYRQ.
WILD= The Wild beat LA Friday 4-2 and then beat San Jose on Saturday 6-3 to clinch a Western Conference Playoff berth.
