--There was no school at Little Falls Community High School Friday. Superintendent Greg Johnson of Little Falls Schools issued a statement late Thursday that there was an isolated incident at the high school that involved a threat to student safety. The threat is isolated to the high school. For several weeks, there has been an increased amount of graffiti in the girl's restrooms at the high school. Most have been pictures and inappropriate comments. Thursday, a custodian discovered a threat to student safety. Little Falls Community Schools immediately involved local law enforcement and continue to investigate this threat on Friday. All events at the high school Friday night and Saturday were moved to other sites, like the hockey team in Brainerd Saturday, wrestling to Alexandria on Friday and others postponed to later dates. Johnson on Sunday met with administrators and law enforcement officials and set out this statement: Little Falls Community Schools and the Little Falls Police Department would like to take this opportunity to address and update you on the security threat that resulted in the closing of Little Falls Community High School on Friday, February 3. To begin, the District would like to thank the Little Falls Police Department for partnering with us by leading the investigation. On Thursday, a vague threat was discovered written on a bathroom stall that has been thoroughly investigated over the past 72 hours. The District and the Police Department had ongoing communication throughout the investigation. Together, we have identified a student that we believe is responsible. Student and staff safety is our top priority. We understand that incidents like this can be unsettling, and we would like to assure you that we are doing everything we can to maintain a safe and secure learning environment for your student. While we have identified a student that we believe is responsible, students will see an increased law enforcement presence at LFCHS. The increased presence of law enforcement is simply to help students feel safe as we move beyond this incident. School will resume at the High School on Monday (February 6). If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us or a member of our administration. Thank you for your continued commitment to our school and our students. So again, there is school at all buildings today including the High School in Little Falls. Superintendent Johnson is planning to address the issue Tuesday morning just after 8am on AM960 KLTF and fallsradio.com.
