NEWS
--The Little Falls Police Department has made an arrest in connection with the death of Jeanine Greyblood of Little Falls. Her husband, Jonathan Greyblood, 30, of Little Falls, was taken into custody at approximately 1:05pm Sunday at the Little Falls Police Department. He has been booked into the Morrison County Jail on probable cause second degree murder. Formal charges are expected later this
week. Jonathan Greyblood contacted police to report that Jeanine Greyblood went missing on Saturday morning around 1:30am, Morrison County sheriff’s deputies located her remains at about 12:45pm south of Little Falls, deceased under suspicious circumstances. She will be taken to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause and manner of death. The Little Falls Police Department is being assisted with its investigation by Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, the Morrison and Todd County sheriff’s offices, the Little Falls and Brainerd fire departments, the Minnesota State Patrol, Minnesota Dept. of Natural Resources,
and the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office. This remains an ongoing and active investigation into the death of Greyblood of Little Falls.

--An Amber Alert Saturday for a 1-year-old boy who was in the back seat of an SUV that was stolen in Minneapolis Saturday was cancelled about an hour after it was released, beacause the boy has been found safe. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension canceled an Amber Alert for Da’Merion Ni’mer White. Following a multi-city pursuit Brooklyn Park police say the suspect was apprehended and is in custody. A female victim was treated at the scene for injruies.

--CHI St. Gabriels Health released a statement on the giving of the COVID-19 vaccine, it was reported Saturday that the hospital has been coordinating with the state and the Central Minnesota Coalition to get a consistent supply of 200-500 a week, they are waiting for the next supply when in and ready they would be able to schedule patients based on the tier system the state gave them, starting with patients over 65. Again they will call the patients on the list and ask that they not be called for appointments as they have to follow the system that is in place. Back on Thursday, Morrison County Public Health stated that they are not vaccinating the general public for COVID-19 and due to lack of supply are NOT putting names on a waiting list. They did vaccinate the Phase 1 health care workers and high risk clients over the past weeks but again in the waiting game.

--Approximately 60 Soldiers from the B Company, 1st General Support Aviation Battalion, 171st Aviation Regiment based in St. Cloud, Minnesota, will deploy to Kuwait and Iraq for a nine-month mission in support of Operation Inherent Resolve and Operation Spartan Shield. While deployed, the Soldiers will provide aerial movement of troops, supplies and equipment for support of maneuver, combat support and combat service support operations. The unit flies CH-47 Chinook heavy lift helicopters which are capable of transporting personnel and equipment. The unit’s deployment ceremony will be streamed live on Facebook at facebook.com/34thECAB at 1:00pm on Monday, February 8th. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, members of the public are asked to view the ceremony virtually.

--Morrison County website reported 29 active cases on Friday with no zip codes in the county reported more than 10 cases, There was one newly reported death in Morrison County on Friday's state report of a person in their late 60s. 5 new cases Friday, 1 new case Saturday and there were 4 new cases in Morrison County on Sunday.

--Due to a water main break at Little Falls Community High School and flooding in the commons, office area, and some classrooms Sunday afternoon, today will be a Distance Learning Day for High School students grades 9-12; Again only the High School. For all of our other students and schools, tomorrow will be a normal In-Person Day of school. Please dress warm and take extra precautions against very cold temperatures this morning heading to school.

--The Little Falls Community Schools and the Morrison County Food Shelf announced that these are challenging times, and many need a little extra help. So they want you to know that there are hunger-fighting resources available in every community including right here in Little Falls and Morrison County. --Pierz School Superintendent George Weber stated on KLTF Friday that the plan is to get more events going in March hopefully in person but also available online that includes their Elementary Musical scheduled now for March 4th, a combined band and choir concert and an elementary band and choir concert on two different dates later in the month of March. They are also planning the final weekend of March for their spring play on a Friday, Saturday night and a Sunday afternoon matinee with the hopes to also be available on the school's website and facebook page. Weber said the support of the community to help in transportation, teaching, athletics and activites is appreciated as the school continues to do all that is possible now to keep the students in class for the rest of the school year.

--Congratulations to the Little Falls Flyers One-Act Play cast, crew, and Director Annie Kraus, as the group recently finished Section Runners-Up in their competition. Great Job by all.

--Actor Christopher Plummer has died at age 91. He is best remembered as Captain Von Trapp in the Sound of Music in 1965.
