--Crow Wing County Sheriff Scott Goddard is excited to announce a new program which he is rolling out to the public where anyone can register their home security cameras with the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office. The program is called, “Community Watch Cameras” (CWC). The purpose of this program so that in an event of a crime that has been committed in a particular neighborhood, Deputies and officers could view a map of registered private surveillance cameras that may have captured vital evidence which could assist Law Enforcement in solving the crime. “This could be vital evidence in the case of an abduction, a burglary, or other serious crime”, says Sheriff Goddard. Sheriff Goddard wants to stress that by registering your surveillance system with his office, it does not give the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office access to your surveillance system. It only lets his staff know who has surveillance camera systems that may be of assistance. Registering your surveillance cameras is simple and easy. Simply go to the Crow Wing County Facebook Page or The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s website, click on the “Community Watch Cameras” icon and fill out and submit the form. Both citizens and business owners can register their cameras.
