NEWS
--Police on Thursday identified the construction worker who was shocked and seriously injured while holding an electrical cord and stepping in water on an apartment construction site associated with the Minnesota Vikings in Eagan. The incident occurred about 1:45pm Wednesday just outside a building at the Viking Lakes residential construction project in the 700 block of Vikings Parkway in Eagan. Police identified the man as 18-year old Aaron M. Welle of Holdingford who was last reported in crictical condiciton of Fairview Hospital in the Twin Cities Metro Area. Welle was working at the time for J-Berd Mechanical, a subcontractor from Sauk Rapids. A caller to 911 said "the victim was not breathing and unconscious". "The guy stepped in a puddle with an electrical cord." Welle was receiving cardiopulmonary resuscitation before being rushed to a hospital. Safety officials with Minnesota OSHA are investigating. In a statement, a spokesman for the Vikings said, "Our primary concern is for the individual, his family and all of the workers on the site. We are cooperating with the individual's employer and the proper authorities and will share additional information when it becomes available." The apartment complex, designed to include more than 250 units, is part of the Viking Lakes multiuse development rising on acreage near Dodd Road and Interstate 494.

--Seats on 20 township boards in Morrison County will be decided by voters Tuesday, March 9. Voters in Platte Township will have a question on their ballot about whether or not to move its election to November. The townships that will hold elections include: Agram, Belle Prairie, Bellevue, Buckman, Buh, Culdrum, Darling, Granite, Green Prairie, Lakin, Leigh, Little Falls, Motley, Parker, Pike Creek, Platte, Ripley, Swan River, Swanville and Two Rivers. Agram Township: Seats up for election are one supervisor seat currently held by David Janson and the treasurer seat, currently held by Galen Stumpf. The annual meeting takes place at 3pm and polls at Agram Town Hall will remain open to 8pm on Tuesday.

--Little Falls Township Town Hall and Community Center will be an open polling place on Election Day, Tuesday March 9th from 2pm to 8pm for Voters of Little Falls Township. The Little Falls Township Annual Meeting will be held after the closing of the polls. With the current health pandemic and the goal of Little Falls Township to protect voters and election judges, Voters and Residents are required to wear face coverings, if medically able and practice social distancing of six feet or more, which will be marked on the floor. Election judges will sanitize the voting areas and booths frequently. Voters are encouraged to bring their own black ink pen. Any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact 320-232-9554.

--The Little Falls Police Department has recently taken numerous complaints of vehicles that have been gone through. In some of these cases, items from inside the vehicles have been stolen. This is a good reminder to lock your vehicles and property.

--The Morrison County Commissioners meet Tuesday at 9am at the Government Center Boardroom. The Board will announce recepients to the years of services awards along with other county reports.

--Morrison County website showed 49 active cases on Friday's report 16 cases in Little Falls and 10 in Royalton on the report. There were 813 new cases and 13 new deaths linked to the virus. Morrison County had 6 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, then jumped to 15 new cases on Saturday and another 4 cases on Sunday.

--At 5:23am Friday the Little Falls Fire Department was dispatched to 413 4th St NE on a report of a dumpster on fire. Upon arrival firefighters found that there was fire in a roll-off construction dumpster in the driveway. Fire department personnel extinguished the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

--The Little Falls Kiwanis Club will host a virtual trivia night on Thursday at 7pm via Zoom. This is the Little Falls Kiwanis Club's only fundraiser of the past year, and we will use these funds for replacing playground equipment in parks in Little Falls. Due to COVID the event will be operated virtually, the only requirement for participation is to have at least one device connected to the Zoom Meeting and able to fill out the google form. You may invite anyone to be on your team, but we do ask that at least one team member be a part of the Little Falls Community to maintain the traveling trophy that goes to the winners. --A Belgrade woman was killed in a rural Kandiyohi County crash. The crash happened on Friday at 10:15 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 71 and County Road 34 in Colfax Township, south of Belgrade. The Minnesota State Patrol says 82-year-old Marilyn Hagen was southbound on Highway 71 in an SUV when it crossed the center line, colliding head-on with a semi driven by 54-year-old Bruce Bruns of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Bruns was taken to Willmar Hospital with injuries not considered to be life-threatening.

NATIONAL NEWS
The U.S. House and Senate have both passed President Joe Biden's 1.9-Trillion dollar COVID-19 relief bill which includes another round of stimulus checks of $1,400 to Americans. President Biden stated that if all goes as planned the checks should be sent out in early April.
