--Little Falls Community Schools Superintendent Stephen Jones spoke on Little Falls Radio Friday. He discussed end of the year events including choir concert tonight, 5th grade graduations this week and high school graduation on Sunday afternoon. He also spoke on the construction work at Dr. S.G. Knight in Randall and the Community Middle School this summer with work on the gyms at both schools, security upgrades and paving of parking lots in the district. They are also removing and installing new bleachers in the high school gym. This comes from the monies approved from the referendum that passed back in 2016. Superintendent Jones also stressed Community is important and if you have questions, concerns and ideas, address him at the school by calling 632-2001.

--The missing Camden, South Carolina toddler spotted in Iowa after being missing for a month has been found safe. 2-year old Dakota Ray was taken into protective custody in Iowa after her parents were arrested on unrelated charges. The Camden Police Department thanked citizens who shared the story on social media and called in with tips. William Ray was wanted on charges of grand larceny. It's unclear what charges his wife, Jessica Ray, was charged with.

--The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says a vehicle crash happened just after 1:30pm Thursday near the intersection of County Road 1 and 411th Street in Brockway Township, about 1 1/2 miles northeast of St. Stephen. A Jeep driven by 28-year old Jolene Breault of Mora went off the road and hit a mailbox and a field approach then rolled before coming to a stop against some trees. Also in the vehicle was 27-year old Mitchell Bialka of Becker. He was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

--The Benton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating several cases of damage to vehicles and theft from a vehicle in the area Highway 10 NW and 95th Street NW in Watab Township. On Wednesday the Benton County Sheriff’s Office was called to the DNR boat landing on Little Rock Lake near the intersection of Highway 10 NW and 95th Street NW in regards to damage to several vehicles. The investigating deputy learned that three trucks parked at the boat landing had a hole drilled in their gas tanks and all of the gasoline removed from the tanks. The deputy also learned that a passenger car at the landing had been broken into with the suspect(s) removing a wallet and speaker from the car. The theft and damage at this location occurred between 6:30pm and 8:00pm on Wednesday. On Thursday the Benton County Sheriff’s Office learned of another instance of gasoline being removed from a vehicle in this area. On May 12th between 2:00am and 9:00am, another victim’s car that had been parked at Rumor’s Bar and Grill in Rice had its gas tank drilled and the gasoline removed. All of this occurred in high traffic areas and the Benton County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who might have seen suspicious activity or anyone with information about this crime to contact the Benton County Sheriff’s Office at (320) 968-7201 or Tri-County Crime Stoppers at (800) 255-1301.

--The Mille Lacs County Sheriff's Office is looking for the owner of a trailer they found. The sheriff's office found a white 6 X12 carry-on enclosed trailer, which the VIN sticker has been removed and painted over. If you recently lost a trailer and want more information on the located one call Mille Lacs County at at (320) 983-8250.

--The Little Falls City Council meets tonight 7:30pm at City Hall.

--The Midwest Dairy Association held its 18th annual Princess Kay selection luncheon Sunday at the College of Benedict in St. Joseph. The twelve finalists are Megan Hollermann and Rebekka Paskewitz both representing Todd County; Amy Broll and Laura Grimm, both representing Carver County; Blaize Dankers and Melendy Miller, both representing Wabasha County; Katherine Gathje, representing Meeker County; Ashley Maus, representing Stearns County; Korissa Lindquist, representing Kandiyohi County; Calissa Lubben, representing Rock County; Julia Mullenbach, representing Mower County; and Catherine Thompson, representing Olmsted County. Megan Hollermann says of the weekend, “so one thing I definitely learned this weekend is listening, sometimes it's best to listen to the consumer and then answer.” 65 county dairy princesses participated in the three day leadership conference which culminated in the announcement of the twelve finalists for the 65th Princess Kay of the Milky Way. Rebekka Paskewitz says that, “Our community in dairy and our industry with consumers is changing consistently and consumers want to be more involved.” The twelve finalists will each have their likenesses carved into 90 pound blocks of butter throughout the twelve days of the Minnesota State Fair. The 65th Princess Kay of the Milky Way will be announced on Wednesday, August, 22nd (the night before the Minnesota State Fair).

--The two-week filing period for most federal, state and local elected offices starts Tuesday. Candidates for these seats must file an affidavit of candidacy between May 22nd and 5:00pm on Tuesday June 5th. Those seats include U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, the Minnesota Legislature, Minnesota governor and lieutenant governor, state auditor, attorney general, county commissioner, attorney and sheriff, as well as seats on city councils and school boards in cities or districts with primary elections. Filing offices will be closed on Memorial Day. In cities and school districts that do not have primary elections, like the city of Little Falls, the filing period is July 31st to 5:00pm August 14th. The primary election is August 14th, and the general election will be November 6th. A list of candidates who have filed will be posted at www.sos.state.mn.us.
