NEWS
--The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office has received reports of thefts off of vehicles at Auto Max, MK Car Sales and Hilmerson Collision Center. All these businesses are located south of Little Falls on Haven Road. The suspect(s) cut the catalytic converters off some of the vehicles located at these businesses. According to the Sheriff’s Office these incidents are believed to be related and happened sometime between Tuesday and Friday. If you have information regarding these thefts you are asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at (320) 632-9233.

--Pierz Police Chief Eric Hanneken wants to remind residents of the city of Pierz that winter parking restrictions went into effect November 1st. There shall be no parking on any city street in the city of Pierz from November 1st through April 1st between the hours of 2am to 6am. Pierz City Ordinance also requires that all sidewalks within the city of Pierz be maintained by respective property owners in a timely fashion. This especially becomes important in the winter, when sidewalks may become covered in snow or ice. The ordinance requires property owners to remove all snow, ice or rubbish from a sidewalk 24 hours after it has been deposited on the sidewalk. If a property owner does not comply to this ordinance within 24 hours, the city will remove the snow or ice itself and bill 100% of the cost to the property owner.

--Today is Veteran's Day, a day to honor all men and women you have served in the U.S. Armed Forces to keep our country save. It is a Federal Holiday meaning that most federal, state, county and city offices are closed today (some may be open so call ahead), banks, financial institutions, post offices (no regular mail delivery), and other businesses may be closed today. Some schools are off while others are in session. The Committal Hall at the State Veteran's Cemetery will be open from 1-4pm today for those to come and view the 5 portraits of the U.S. Military done by Charles Kapsner. There will also be the Armistice ceremony at 11:11am today at Bank Square in downtown Little Falls with members of the American Legion and VFW, and the USA Community Chorus will perform their Veterans concert tonight at 7:30pm at the Swanville High School Auditorium, with a tribute to Vietnam War Veterans at the program tonight, the event is free of charge but a free will offering will be expected to up fund the chorus at tonight's concert. Many restaurants and establishments also announced special deals and free meals for Veterans today so check with your local businesses on special items for Veterans on their day.

--With no school today in Little Falls, the Little Falls Community Middle School will hold their Veteran's program tomorrow morning at 8:30am at the middle school. The Little Falls Community High School will hold their Veterans program at 9am tomorrow morning. Veterans will have some special parking spaces in the student parking lot and can use the Gym doors or the main entrance to go to the gym for the program. Another reminder that due to Pierz city offices being closed today for Veterans Day, the Pierz City Council will meet tomorrow night at 7pm at Pierz City Hall.

--The musical act Big Sweet Life presents Dylanography a Multimedia-Musicological experience featuring the songs of Bob Dylan plus the musicians he influenced from the 1960s and beyond like The Byrds, John Lennon, The Turtles and Dire Straits. $12 in advance for tickets at BigSweetLife.BrownPaperTickets.com or they will be $15 a the door of the event on Friday night at Great River Arts in Little Falls. The show starts at 7:30pm and doors will open at 6:30pm.

--A man walking on Highway 10 at Iris Road in Little Falls Township has been killed. The Minnesota State Patrol says it happened just before 6pm Sunday. A pickup was going south on the highway, in the left lane, when a man crossed the road from the west side and was struck. The man who died has been identified as 59-year-old Keith Larson of Little Falls. The pickup driver, 27-year-old Ryan Hilliard of Minneapolis, was not hurt.

--Six people were hurt in a two-vehicle crash in St. Joseph Township Friday afternoon. The incident happened around 12:30 p.m. on Highway 23. The Minnesota State Patrol says a van was heading east on Highway 23 when it was hit by an SUV making a right turn that did not stop at a stop sign on the exit from Interstate 94. The driver of the van, 43-year-old Rodolfo Cisneros Olivas of Polo, Missouri, and his five passengers: 39-year-old Sarah Helmstrom, 38-year-old Daniel Helstrom, 35-year-old Rosalinda Cisneros, 19-year-old Linda Cisneros, and 3-year-old Romeo Cisneros of St. Cloud were taken to St. Cloud Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver and passenger in the SUV, 32-year-old Gerald Petterson of Blaine and 30-year-old Kyle Wahlund of Richfield, were not hurt.

--A St. Cloud woman has pleaded guilty to four felony charges of filing false or fraudulent tax returns. 40-year-old Jamie Lynn will be sentenced in January. The Minnesota Department of Revenue accused Lynn of filing fraudulent returns each year from 2014 through 2017, overstating her withholding amounts in order to get thousands of dollars in tax refunds that she wasn't entitled to. Four charges of failure to remit a tax were dismissed.

--Congratulations to the Pierz Pioneers for advancing to the Class AAA State Semi-Finals Saturday at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. The Pioneers trounced Perham 58-16 Saturday to move on to play Jackson County Central Saturday 4:30pm on FM94 KFML.

COL FB= Gophers defense comes up big in end to beat Penn State on Saturday 31-26 at TCF Bank Stadium. The Gophers are 9-0 for the first time since 1904 and now ranked #7 in the latest BCS rankings. The Gophers travel to Iowa on Saturday at 3pm on AM960 KLTF.
NFL= Kyle Rudolph gets 2 touchdowns, Dalvin Cook adds a big game as the Vikings beat Dallas 28-24 last night on Sunday Night Football. The Vikings (7-3) host Denver this Sunday at noon.
SWIM= Little Falls will send Rachel Josephson and their 400 Freestyle Relay to the State Tournament in Swimming later this week.
