--Slippery roads Saturday led to a an accident where two men were injured on the side of Highway 210 in Crow Wing County. 35-year-old Cory Kyllingstad of Fort Ripley had his tow truck facing west near the intersection of Highway 210 and Crow Wing County Road 59 at Riverton was loading a pickup driven by 21-year-old Trevor Vian of Baxter. A 17-year-old juvenile male from Deerwood was westbound on Highway 210 and upon seeing the tow truck and pickup on the side of the road, he pressed his brakes and attempted to slow down. Due to the slippery conditions of the roadway, however, he slid into pickup and then strcuk Kyllingstad and Vian who were both outside of their vehicles. Both were transported to Crosby with non-life threatening injuries. The juvenile driver was not injured.

--The Minnesota State Patrol reported 55 accidents on Friday and another 77 accidents on Saturday with also reported accidents Sunday but the official daily report was not yet released this morning. Westbound Interstate 94 near St. Joseph was closed Friday when a pickup pulling a cattle trailer had the trailer oveturned blocking the roadway. No one was hurt. The Minnesota State Patrol said over the past two days there were 15 injury accidents on state highways and a report of 16 semis jackknived with most on Interstate 94 between Moorhead and St Cloud. No serious injury accidents were reported on the state highways but three fatal accidents occurred from township and county roads in the state over the past three days.

--With the winter season presenting itself, Pierz Police Eric Hanneken would like to remind all residents of Pierz that there shall be no parking on any city street from November 1st to April 1st between the hours of 2AM and 6AM. It is also the duty of the owners and occupants of any property adjacent to a public sidewalk to keep sidewalk safe for pedestrians. No such owner or occupant shall allow snow and ice to remain on the sidewalk longer than 24 hours after it’s been deposited thereon. Failure to comply with this ordinance shall constitute a violation resulting in a citation. Please help keep these areas clean to help with traffic flow and pedestrian movement.

--A Belgrade man is dead after a one-car crash near St. Martin Thursday. The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says a passerby called them just before 7am to report a car had struck an unoccupied house and the driver was unresponsive. Emergency crews arrived at the scene in the 25,000 block of County Road 195 and began life-saving efforts on the man. The sheriff's office says they were unable to revive the driver, 22-year-old Cory Sturges, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities say Sturges was northbound on County Road 195, left the roadway, entered the ditch, continued on, struck a driveway approach, and became airborne. His car then struck the house. The sheriff's office says it's unclear exactly when the crash happened because no one was at home at the time and Sturges was the only one in the car.

--A hunting accident in Kingston Township has left a man with serious injuries. Meeker County Sheriff's Office responded to the 72-thousand block of County State Aid Highway 27 just after 2:30pm to find 38-year-old Michael Hendrickson of Dassel with a gunshot wound to his leg. He was airlifted to St. Cloud Hospital. The initial investigation revealed Hendrickson accidentally discharged the gun while climbing into his deer stand. Sheriff Brian Cruze reminds all hunters to practice safe firearm handling. There were two other reports of hunting accidents last week one in Worthington and another in Mahomen.

--Morrison County Veterans Service Officer Kathy Marshik announced last week that they are helping Veterans in need this holiday season or a veteran's family in need, that Family Assistance Center at Camp Ripley and Yellow Ribbon Network and others in the area are donating food boxes to give to these families or Veterans in need. Kathy said they need to know soon so they can get a list together and get them to people making donations for shopping and cordinating the efforts to get these item to those in need. --Becker police arrested a man after leading them on a high-speed chase. On Saturday at about 2am an officer with the Becker Police Department was conducting a traffic stop on Highway 10 at Main Avenue in Clear Lake. The officer was working a special DUI enforcement shift. While talking to the driver the officer discovered he had a felony warrant for check forgery out of McLeod County. When the officer tried to arrest the driver he took off at a high rate of speed. The pursuit covered a total of 22 miles while driving from Clear Lake to southeast St. Cloud. The driver pulled into an apartment complex on the east side of St. Cloud and then fled on foot. Officers with the Becker Police Department, St. Cloud Police Department, Big Lake Police Department, the Minnesota State Patrol and the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office located the driver and took him into custody. The man was identified as 37-year-old Jeremy Shoemaker of Loretto

--Swanville High School will be presenting their fall play “Murderous Night at the Museum” which is a zany comedic murder mystery Friday and Saturday night at 7:30pm at the Swanville High School auditorium. Tickets sold at the door.

--Pierz Healy High School will be perfroming “Legally Blonde the Muscial” this Thursday, Friday and Saturday night at 7pm and Sunday afternoon at 2pm at the High School PAC. Tickets sold at the door.

--The Falls Ballroom is welcoming Sherwin and Pam Linton for a Tribute of Johnny Cash and Classic Country concert on Friday, November 26th at 6:30pm. The show ia fundraiser for Mary of Lourdes Schools Washington DC trip. Tickets are $35 in advance or will be $40 at the door the night of the event. COL FB= the pig stays in Iowa as the Hawkeyes hold of the Minnesota Gophers Saturday 27-22 to keep Floyd of Rosedale. The Gophers (6-4) are at Indiana this Saturday at 2:30pm on KLTF.
HS FB= teams like BBE, New London-Spicer, Alexandria, Eden Valley-Watkins were all eliminated in the state football quarterfinals.
HS VB= Sauk Centre wins Class AA Championship in volleyball. Mayer Lutheran, Marshall and Wayzata also win state championships.
