On Saturday morning the Associated Press announced that Nevada and Pennsylvania declared Joe Biden the winner in those states making enough electoral votes to declare former Vice-President Joe Biden the 46th President of the United States-elect on Saturday.

NEWS
--The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office reported Thursday that their office was contacted by the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office and advised to be on the lookout for a Blue Dodge Durango occupied with a male and a female subject. Stearns County advised that the male suspect had multiple warrants and was known to frequent the southwest portion of Morrison County. At approximately 4:06 pm, a Morrison County Sergeant located the vehicle on 90th Avenue and 60th Street, just north of Elmdale. The Morrison County Sergeant attempted to stop the vehicle and the suspect fled, driving through fields and eventually getting stuck in a swamp south of 95th Street and west of Great River Road, in Swan River Township. The two occupants then fled on foot. The Sheriff’s Office along with several other agencies secured a perimeter while drones and two K-9 teams searched the area. After a five-hour search of the area the subjects were not located. On Friday morning around 8:40am, the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office located two subjects walking along Great River Road, south of 95th Street, wrapped in blankets. When approached by deputies, the male subject took off running and was immediately apprehended along with the female subject. It has been confirmed these are the two subjects that fled from deputies the night before. According to the Sheriff’s Office, 26-year-old Timothy Haberman of St. Cloud, MN and 26-year-old Cathleen Letson of St. Cloud, MN were taken into custody. Haberman is being held in Stearns County Jail pending formal charges. Letson was interviewed at the scene and information was passed onto Stearns County Investigators. An emergency alert was sent to residents within the area of where the suspect vehicle was located. The alert advised residents to shelter in place due to the nature of the incident. The alert reached 256 residents and/or businesses in the area. Morrison County encourages all citizens to sign up so they can receive important public safety information. County residents can sign up for the alerts using the county’s opt-in portal on the Morrison County website. Go to www.co.morrison.mn.us and click on the ‘Residents’ tab at the top of page. Under ‘Living Here’ click on ‘Everbridge Emergency Notifications. Morrison County Sheriff Shawn Larsen would like to thank everyone who assisted at the scene, to include multiple neighbors in the area who provided equipment and other resources.

--A 32-year-old from Little Falls was injured Friday afternoon just after 3:30pm on the ramp coming off of Highway 10 onto Morrison County Road 76 in Little Falls Township. Cody Pelzer's motorcycle began wobbling causing the cycle to leave the roadway going down into a swampy area. Pelzer sustained injuries and treated at the local hospital, the injuries by the state patrol were not life threatening.

--Pierz Schools announced last week they will be making a switch for the 5th and 6th graders starting tomorrow. 5Th and 6th graders will join Pierz Healy High School in Hybrid Learning from Pioneer Elementary school with the Monday/Thursday and Tuesday/Friday reporting method and distance learning on Wednesdays. Pre-K through 4th grade will remain in class 5 days a week at the elementary school.

--Morrison County Website Friday stated 1,078 total cases of the virus in the county since testing began. 304 active cases of COVID-19 and a total of 61 people needed hopsitalization since testing began. Little Falls zip code at 104, Pierz up to 66, Royalton 44, Motley 24, Swanville 13, Bowlus at 11 cases on Friday's report, rest under 10. A very large number of 5,454 new cases on Friday with 36 reported new deaths linked to the virus. Morrison County reported 41 new cases on Friday. Saturday there were 4,647 new cases of COVID-19 and another 34 deaths linked to the virus which included another person in their 80s in Morrison County died from the virus and 26 new cases on Saturday. Sunday 5,924 new cases, 31 new deaths and another in their 80s in Morrison County making 13 total cases. Another 26 new cases were reported Sunday in Morrison County.

--Brenda Perlowski of the Minnesota Fishing Museum Thursday wanted to thank the large donations they have received this year. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and state guidelines the museum itself has been closed since March of this year and right now is not planning on reopening until some time next year. They have had to cancel Christmas Tree Lane fundraiser this year due to restrictions. Danny Noss, one of the board members still want to let the public know that you can still work on getting donations to the muesum but checking out their Facebook page to see when they will be available to take them. Brenda said another option for fundraising this year will be the Give to the Max day for Minnesota non-profits which this year will be on November 19th. Noss also mentioned that a meeting will be held next week to discuss Randall Holly-Day event this year in the works for the first part of December and the local DAV has started taking some clothes for donations but their site is still not opened on the northeast end of Little Falls. --A passenger in a vehicle that struck a deer Thursday in Todd County sustained injuries. Around 5:18am, 26-year-old Claudia Vasquezgarza of Brownsville, Texas was on Highway 71 near 170th Street in Long Prairie when her vehicle struck a deer coming across the highway. The passenger, 30-year-old Luis Garza of Elrosa was treated at the Long Prairie hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

--longtime Game Show Host of Jeopardy, Alex Trebek died Sunday after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 80 years old.
