NEWS
--Morrison County Sheriff Shawn Larsen stated around 4pm Saturday that their office was notified of a missing 14 year old who did not return home from the Flyer football game on Friday night. Emily Gerwing was found safe before 6:30pm Saturday night. The sheriff's office thanks all who helped in the search for the 14 year old girl.

--The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a capsized boat on North Long Lake Saturday just after 10am. Deputies were able to locate the capsized boat using the GPS coordinates from the caller’s phone. The four were able to get out of the water and were found west of the cul-de-sac on Drahos Road. All four individuals had signs of being exposed to the cold water and air temperatures (Hypothermia). All four individuals were transported to the Brainerd hospital. They are 24-year-old Alec Stark from Little Falls, 22-year-old Raymond Rohl of Pillager, 21-year-old Cody Lisson of Long Prairie and 23-year-old Brooke Waldorf of Osakis. It was determined that all four individuals had been duck hunting on North Long Lake when their boat began to take on water due to high winds. The Sheriff's Office stated that because all four were wearing floatation devices, it likely saved their lives due to the high water.

--A Lakeville man was injured Friday morning in a two-vehicle accident near Rice. 29-year old Marcus Jones was west of Highway 10 north of Rice attempting to pass another vehicle and lost control causing Jones to cross the center median and strike another vehicle in the eastbound lane. Jones was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with non life threatening injuries. The driver of the other vehicle 52-year-old Neal Wilson of Dennison was not injured and his passenger 78-year old Judy Ramstead of Little Falls was not injured either.

--A Sartell woman was struck and killed by a car Thursday night. The Sartell Police Department says 37-year old Nadia Filsmyer died at the scene. Officers were called to 2nd Street South and Horizon Avenue South at 8:45pm. The vehicle had been going west on 2nd Street when Filsmyer was struck in the traffic lane. The driver, 47-year old Michelle Anderson of Sartell, was not hurt.

--The Wright County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a possible explosion that happened at the Albertville Mall Friday night. Deputies responded to the mall shortly after 8:30pm and identified a garbage can outside the Nike store that looked damaged. The sheriff’s office says evidence of a small explosion was also found inside the garbage can. Witnesses reported seeing a flash and hearing a boom from the can. Authorities say there was some slight damage done to the exterior of the building, but no one was hurt.

--Father Ben from the Tri-Parish in Little Falls is inviting all parishioners to an Area Catholic Community planning process tonight at 7pm at St. James Catholic Church in Randall. There will be a mass followed by an informational session about the progress of the Catholic Community with the Parishes of St. Mary's, Our Lady of Lourdes, Holy Family-Belle Prairie, St. Stanislaus-Sobieski, Sacred Heart-Flensburg and St. James in Randall. Parish Council members of each church are encouraged to attend. Father Ben said their will information, graphs and a question and answer time for those to get more information on the Bishop's ideas for the Area Catholic Community into the immediate future. Again all are welcome.

--Two more meetings on sex trafficking coming up at 6pm October 21st at Falls Ballroom and 7pm October 28th at Swanville High School.

--Pierz City Council meets tonight 7pm at Pierz City Hall.

--Today is Columbus Day, a federal holiday. Many banks, post offices and government buildings may be closed today while others are open best to call ahead. There is no regular mail delivery today but parcel service is running. Many have started to use this holiday as a floating holiday to be used the day after Thanksgiving or on Christmas Eve.

--A 2-vehicle accident near Foley in Maywood Township injured one person Saturday night on Highway 23. James Vaux of Brook Park was eastbound on 23 when he slid over across the median and struck an eastbound vehicle driven by David Eisenschenk of St. Cloud. Both drivers were not hurt. David's passenger 68-year-old Gloria Eisenschenk of St. Cloud had non life threatening injuries from the accident Saturday night.

--A man walking on a road near Zimmerman died Thursday morning after being hit by a vehicle. Sherburne County Sheriff Joel Brott says 33-year old Ian Hruzek of Zimmerman was crossing County Road 4 near the intersection of County Road 39 in Livonia Township when he was hit by a vehicle traveling west on County Road 4. Deputies were called just before 7:00am. When they arrived, they attempted life-saving measures, but Hruzek was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, 49-year old Susan Morse, was not hurt. Morse stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

--At 8:30pm on Thursday the Benton County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man on charges of possession of a controlled substance and fleeing a police officer on foot. 22-year old J’Shaon Rashi Stevenson of St. Cloud who had had active arrest warrants for felony domestic assault by strangulation, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, and fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle. After a standoff at a residence Stevenson fled out the back door of the residence, running toward a gas station where he was found hiding inside a dumpster. During the search, officers found cash, about 1 gram of suspected crack cocaine, and about 2.1 grams of suspected marijuana. Stevenson was transported to the Benton County Jail where he is awaiting his initial court appearance on charges of possession of a controlled substance and fleeing a police officer on foot.

GOPHERS= Gophers rout Nebraska Saturday 34-7 to go to 6-0 on the season (first time since 2003), Gophers at Rutgers on Saturday.
MLB= Washington leads NLCS against St. Louis 2-0, game 3 is tonight in DC. Yankees win Game 1, Astros win in extra innings last night to tie series at 1 with the ALCS, Game 3 is Tuesday in NY.
HS FB= The High School Football regular season finale is on Wednesday this week due to the formerly known as MEA break for students on Thursday and Friday. Hear high school football games on Wednesday on all three of our Little Falls Radio stations.
