NEWS
–One person was killed and two others hurt in a shooting in St. Cloud early Sunday morning. The St. Cloud Police Department says officers responded to a report of multiple shots fired in the 700 block of 6th Avenue South just before 4am. When police arrived, they found several people in and around a home. Authorities say a disagreement during the gathering at the home led to a shooting. A 34-year-old man with critical injuries died at the scene. Two others, a 26-year-old man and a 52-year-old man, were taken to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Their names have not been released. Authorities say suspects had already left the scene when officers arrived. Police say this was not a random event and there is no threat to the public. Police say multiple witnesses also left the scene when officers arrived. Anyone with any information is asked to contact police as this remains under investigation.

--A 48-year-old from Browerville suffered life threatening injuries from an accident Saturday night in Todd County. Renae Patterson was northbound on Highway 71 in Eagle Valley Township when the vehicle left the road just after 7:30pm. Patterson reportedly was not wearing a seatbelt and suffered life threatening injuries in the accident.

--Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident Saturday at 3:16pm in Mille Lacs County. 56-year-old Leah Hagert of Foley was crossing Highway 23 at 90th Avenue in Borgholm Township when her vehicle was struck by an eastbound pickup driven by 70-year-old Nancy Hoskins of Milaca. Both drivers had non life threatening injuries and treated at the hospital in Princeton.

--One person was injured Saturday morning in a one vehicle accident in Todd County. 20-year-old Drew House of Elbow Lake was eastbound on Highway 10 in Villard Township when the vehicle struck a field approach and rolled several times. Authorities stated that alcohol might have been a factor. The accident was at 6:50am. House was taken to the Staples Hospital for treatment.

--The Minnesota State Patrol said two people were killed and two others seriously injured when a semi truck blew two tires on Interstate 94 in St. Michael of Wright County Saturday at 4:49pm. The semi-driver was not hurt. One of the tires struck a vehicle causing that vehicle to roll over. Two in the vehicle died from the crash and two others were taken to HCMC with their injuries.

--A collision with a police officer Thursday afternoon in St. Cloud sent both the driver and the officer to the hospital. The Minnesota State Patrol says one of their squad cars was eastbound on 12th Street North with the emergency lights and sirens active. The squad car tried to turn left onto Highway 15 Thursday afternoon at about 2:30 when the car crashed with a pickup in the Southbound lane of Highway 15. The officer, 23-year-old Gabriel Jones of St. Cloud, and the driver of the pickup, 68-year-old David Hoffmann of St. Cloud, were both sent to St. Cloud Hospital for non serious injuries.

--The Pierz City Council meets Monday at 7pm at Pierz City Hall. Also winter parking restrictions go into effect on November 1st meaning from November 1st through April 1st you cannot park on the city streets between the hours of 2am-6am. Questions call city hall.

--The Kinship Soup and Chili Cookoff for Kids is tonight at the Falls Ballroom from 5-7pm. Enjoy soups and chili from many groups and businesses, music, breadsticks, ice cream and more. The proceeds go to help the mentoring programs of Kinship of Morrison County. Tickets can be purchased at the event tonight, info 632-8806.

--Minnesota Department of Transportation reminds motorists that road construction is still going on. Between 180th Street (Little Falls) and South 7th Street (Royalton). The roadway is reduced to one lane. Look out for construction work. Expect delays. Until November 28th also Between Oak Street and MN 210 (Brainerd). Look out for construction work. The road is closed. A detour is in operation. Expect delays until November 3, 2023. Highway 10 in St. Cloud is reduced lanes in areas and Highway 23 west of St. Cloud through Cold Spring to Paynesville also has closures and delays through November weather permitting. –Minnesota Representative and U.S. House Majority Whip Tom Emmer is now expected to seek the office of speaker, following two failed bids by his House Republican colleagues, Majority Leader Steve Scalise and Ohio Representative Jim Jordan. Emmer's decision follows weeks of tumult in the House of Representatives, which moved to oust former Speaker Kevin McCarthy. With McCarthy's exit and the body's inability to unite over appointing a new leader, the position has been vacant since. As of Friday afternoon, Emmer, Minnesota's 6th Congressional District representative, was among several House Republicans who had thrown their hats into the ring for speaker, including Rep. Kevin Hern of Oklahoma; Rep. Austin Scott of Georgia; Rep. Jack Bergman of Michigan and Rep. Byron Donalds of Florida.

--The City of Little Falls will have their leaf and brush pickup rain or shine on Saturday starting at 6am. Please have your leaves in untied bags on the curb or boulevard of your street NOT in the alley by 6am. Have a rock to hold down the bag in case of winds. Pine needles are not included in the bags, if bags include them they will not be taken. Brush can picked up but must be no larger than 1 inch in diameter or 4 feet in length or it will not be taken. The Morrison County Highway Department on West River Road is open for composting. A reminder that it is illegal to burn leaves or grass in the city. NFL= Vikings host San Francisco tonight on Monday Night Football, hear the action starting at 6:30pm on AM960 KLTF.
MLB= Houston and Arizona both get late scores to win on Friday in their championship series. Philadelphia bounced back with a win Saturday to take a 3-2 lead in series, game 6 is today in NLCS, while Texas survived Sunday night 9-2 to win to make a game 7 tonight in the ALCS against Houston.
MAR= runners from the Twin Cities Marathon that was canceled on October 1st due to heat will be refunded from their entry fee that they paid, they changed bylaws of no refunds due to the cancellation.
