--After some years absent the Falls Theatre reopens tonight at 6:30. Next week the Falls Theatre is pleased to announce a weekend of festivities celebrating its Grand Opening following nearly a year of restorations. From October 6th through the 8th will open its doors to welcome the community to enjoy motion pictures in an ambiance reminiscent of its original 1933 grandeur. The celebration begins next Friday at 6pm will have a ribbon cutting and lighting of the marquee. Hosted by Little Falls’ own talented comedian Jason Schommer, the ceremony will include community members. The Falls will bring back the first movie ever shown at the theatre ninety years ago, The Nuisance. A romantic comedy starring Lee Tracy and Madge Evans, Tickets for The Nuisance are just 50 cents, the same price printed on the vintage tickets found in The Falls during restoration work. Saturday, October 7th is The Falls’ “Blockbuster Party” from 10am-2pm with tours of the theatre. A video booth is planned so that community members may record memories of The Falls as well as their thoughts on its reopening. Susy Prosapio will be on KLTF Party Line today at 10:05am to invite all to and back to the Falls Theatre. --Mn Dot reported a fatal accident on Highway 25 at County Road 16 in Palmer Township of Sherburne County about 12 miles south of Foley on Thursday afternoon at 2:36pm. A semi-truck driven by a Oglivie man collided with a Volkswagen driven by a 77-year-old from Cushing. Authorities stated one person was killed and details will be released later on Friday, listen to Little Falls for more information.

--Two people were charged with murder following a months long investigation of a fentanyl overdose death in Aitkin County. Kristina Marie Krone, 42, of Hinckley, and Stephen Michael Bochniak, 32, of Mora, are charged with third degree murder, which carries a maximum sentence of 25 years and/or a $40,000 fine. The Aitkin County Sheriff's Office responded to a medical call of an unresponsive male, reported at 9:02pm June 18 to the 28000 block of 303rd Place in Malmo Township, southeast of Aitkin. Life-saving measures were unsuccessful and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene around 9:40pm. Deputies observed a small empty bottle of Narcan on the ground, two hypodermic needles, one on the ground and one on an end table in the garage and two pieces of foil on the end table next to the hypodermic needle. One piece of foil contained a black substance and the other piece of foil contained a small white powder substance, believed to be fentanyl. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner later determined the cause of death was fentanyl toxicity. After months of interviews, the Aitkin County Attorney’s Office issued a statement of probable cause on September 20th and arrest warrants were issued for both of Krone and Bochniak in the death case.

--A Robbinsdale man was found dead Wednesday morning at the Target store in Otsego. Wright County Sheriff’s Deputies located the man, identified as 43-year-old John Zechmeister of Robbinsdale, deceased in the bathroom of the store. Managers at the Target store closed the store while first responders were on the scene. The body was released to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s office. While the death is still under investigation there is no danger to the public.

--Morrison County United Way is hosting their Carbles Tournament again on October 13th at 6pm Sobieski Community Center. --The Little Falls Homecoming Parade is today at 2pm starts from the middle school parking lot then will travel past the tennis courts, behind the high school onto 9th Avenue and past Lindbergh Elementary then down 1st Avenue to 5th behind St. Mary's Church and then back to the high school. There will be portions of roadways blocked off on the southeast side between 2-3pm today.

--The City of Pierz sent out a letter that Chris and Jodi Burgardt of Little Falls have purchased Pierz Sanitation and plan on keeping the facilities in Pierz where they are as Chris and Jody already have a solid waste business in Little Falls. Starting earlier this week they have gone to the recycling system similar to Little Falls where items can be placed together without sorting in a recycling container. There will be a different truck picking up recycling. The letter then discusses what needs to be done with the container, pickup times and other information which includes some changes on how the garbage was picked up in the city of Pierz. – The Recovery Community Network (RCN) recently bestowed the Chief Master Sergeant Russ Habighorst Humanitarian Award upon Central MN resident Maj. (ret) John Donovan. John co-founded the Recovery Community Network almost ten years ago. He has been a tireless advocate for veterans in recovery. Donovan served the U.S. Army and National Guard as well as being at Camp Ripley for years. --The Pine Grove Zoo is finishing the year with their Annual Boo Fest on October 21st from 2-5pm.
