--George Weber, Superintendent of Pierz Schools yesterday stated that he feels optimism for the upcoming school year. Weber said the plan is to have all the students back in class without using the distance learning method and that there will be no masks required in any of the school buildings. Weber put out a plea that they are in need of bus drivers for the morning and afternoon routes and plan on expanding by one more route for less kids on buses as federal guidelines are still being followed on all school buses with lower numbers on the buses and all wearing masks on the bus to and from school. Weber wanted to welcome new students and staff to the Pierz Schools and there will be an open house on August 30th for those to come and see the facilitie now all connected with Pioneer Elementary and Pierz Healy High School for all students. --The Morrison County Food Shelf will be hosting an open house to show off their SuperShelf facility that was started back in 2019. This is to give all who enter the food shelf, access to a variety of healthy, culturally-appropriate foods has expanded. Better food options are being showcased and promoted to help encourage clients to make healthier food choices. The Food Shelf continues to work to ensure that access to healthy food is available to everyone in the community. The support it has received from the community members and businesses has helped to support this continued effort. All are welcome to the Food Shelf, 912 First Avenue Southwest in Little Falls today from 11:30am-1pm for an open house with food and beverages to thank all of those that have supported the food shelf.

--Police in Isanti County believe a woman found dead inside an Athens Township home was missing 32-year-old Amanda Jo Vangrinsven. According to a press release from the Isanti County Sheriff's Office and Isanti Police, investigators were issuing a search warrant at a home Tuesday night when they found an adult woman's body on the property. The medical examiner's office will make an official identification, but based on evidence found at the scene, police say they believe the woman is Vangrinsven. Currently, there are no suspects in custody in connection to Vangrinsven's case. Vangrinsven was reported missing on August 7th missing after she was last seen on August 5th leaving the VFW in Isanti.

--As many events this year have already seen, the organizers of Farmfest near Redwood Falls have announced an increased attendance, hitting a three-year high. IDEAg Group, producers of Minnesota Farmfest, say Farmfest show grounds saw more than 28,000 people throughout all three days at the farm near Redwood Falls. The largest numbers were on Wednesday when the governor, secretary of agriculture and other political figures were in attendence. Next year's Farmfest is set already for August 2nd through 4th of 2022.

--Living Hope Church north of Little Falls is hosting their Family Fun Day event this Sunday from 10am-1:30pm. They will be offering free lunch, giveaways, free inflatables, BINGO, and cotton candy, along with many other fun activities after morning service. Everything is FREE! There will be games and activities for kids through adults and giveaways every hour. Everyone in the community is welcome and Pastor Keith Thompson will update this at 8:45am today on KLTF.

--Royalton School Superintendent Dr. Kristine Wehrkamp is the guest on Community Program to update the Royalton school district at 8:30am on AM960 KLTF and streamed at fallsradio.com.

--A man accused of shooting multiple people inside a Buffalo health clinic has been found competent to stand trial. According to a news release from the Wright County Attorney's Office, Gregory Ulrich withdrew an objection to a previous competency evaluation in court on Wednesday. Ulrich is accused of opening fire inside the Allina Clinic on February 9th leaving four people injured and one woman dead. Ulrich is charged with second-degree murder, attempted murder and setting off explosive devices. Ulrich's next court appearance is scheduled for September 21st.

--A St. Cloud man faces multiple charges stemming from a violent attack against a woman in June and subsequent burglary and arson incidents. 36-year old James Scholtes, also known in court documents as James Jochum, is charged with five felony counts including kidnapping, domestic assault, domestic assault by strangulation, and threats of violence. Scholtes has numerous previous convictions related to domestic assault and violations of no-contact orders. He is now charged with additional counts, including 1st-degree arson, 1st-degree burglary, and assault.

--The Little Falls High School Class Reunion of 1960, which was scheduled for Friday evening, the 27th of August at the Falls Ballroom, has been Cancelled due to the uptick of COVID. This is being cancelled for the safety of the Classmates and of others. Money sent for reservations is being returned. Any questions please reach out to Tony Wenzel 320-749-2428. ENTERTAINMENT NEWS
--"Jeopardy!" has ended its search for Alex Trebek's successor - and the show couldn't settle on just one person. On Wednesday, Sony Pictures Television announced that Mike Richards will take over as the everyday host of the iconic trivia game show, while actress Mayim Bialik will head primetime and spin-off programming. Richards is the executive producer for both "Jeopardy!" and "Wheel of Fortune," and will maintain that role in addition to the new hosting gig. Bialik has starred in shows like 'Big Bang Theory', has a Ph.D. in Neuroscience and will host the upcoming new "Jeopardy!" college spin-off, "Jeopardy! National College Championship," which is set to begin airing on ABC next year. Former "Jeopardy!" host Alex Trebek died in November 2020, after a public battle with pancreatic cancer. Trebek hosted from 1984-2020.

SPORTS
TWINS= Jorge Polanco's solo home run in the 6th inning was the only run scored in the twins win 1-0 over the Chicago White Sox yesterday. Twins have today off, host the Rays on Friday night and will have their 1991 World Series Champions reunion weekend with events and many guests from 30 years ago on hand for the games.
DREAMS= The Field of Dreams game will be played tonight between the White Sox and the Yankees in Dyersville, Iowa on the set of there the iconic movie starring Kevin Costner was filmed back in 1989. The Game was postponed from last year due to COVID-19. The game will air live on the Fox network tonight.
