NEWS

--Father Ben Kociemba of the Haven of Mercy Catholic Community wants to wish all a very Merry Christmas and to remember the birth of Jesus Christ this weekend. There will be an Advent Penance Service tonight at 7pm at Our Lady of Lourdes where many priests will be to give confession. Friday Mass will be at St. Mary's and Our Lady of Lourdes both at 4pm, Sacred Heart of Flensburg and St. James in Randall both at 4:30pm, Holy Family-Belle Prairie at 7pm and Our Lady of Lourdes at 10pm. The 4pm from St. Mary's and 10pm from Our Lady of Lourdes will be heard live on Q92 WYRQ. Christmas Day Mass will be at 12am at Sacred Heart- Flensburg for Latin Mass, then 8:30am at Our Lady of Lourdes, 9am at St. Stanislaus of Sobieski and St. Mary's in Little Falls, 10am at Holy Family Belle Prairie at Sacred Heart of Flensburg-Latin Mass, and 10:30am at Our Lady of Lourdes in Little Falls. Also Sister Carol Schmitt stated that the St. Francis Convent will have Mass at 8:30am on Christmas Day and that is live streamed on their U-tube page.

–If you have ordered a meal for Christmas for pickup or delivery make sure to keep the time who worked out with Ron Kresha and the Little Falls Ministerial Association and if you can help out today, tomorrow or Saturday with delivery or pickup call Tim Sumner today at 320-632-2640. Again thanks to all who helped and the restaurants who took the time to give the free meals out to the public so that all are able to enjoy and have a Merry Christmas.

--The Legacy Chorale of Greater MN is a renowned multi-community choir formed in 2002, located in the Brainerd Lakes Area. If you reside in the Brainerd Lakes area or surrounding communities and you love to sing, you are invited to audition. The Chorale are currently looking for singers of all voice parts—soprano, alto, tenor, and bass/baritone. Auditions are informal and comfortable: ability to sight-read music is helpful but not necessary, and preparing a piece for your audition is optional. Simply show up anytime during the audition period and be ready to sing! Auditions will be held from 4-7:30pm on Monday January 3, 2022 at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Baxter (6190 Fairview Road North). --Investigators are looking into the cause of a house fire in rural Becker County after a body was found in the burned-out rubble early Wednesday. Becker County Chief Deputy Shane Richard says first responders were dispatched to the 36200 block of Hubble Pond Road in Rochert shortly after 2am on reports of a house fire. At the time of the call, it was unclear whether the home was occupied or not.
Looking for ultimate comfort paired with maximum protection. By the time fire and police personnel arrived ,the structure had already collapsed on itself due to extensive fire damage. The State Fire Marshal's Office responded to the scene to assist investigators from the Frazee, Detroit Lakes and Wolf Lake fire departments and the Becker County Sheriff's Office. While going through the rubble a body was discovered. Authorities are working to identify the victim and inform family before naming the person killed in the fire. Chief Deputy Richard said in a press release that the cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time.

--Tomorrow is Christmas Eve but his year with Christmas Day falling on a Saturday it is also the legal observance of the holiday. Meaning that many government agencies, city halls, government centers, state offices and federal agencies are closed Friday. Many banks will be open but will likely close early like in past years on Christmas Eve and be closed all day Christmas Day. The U.S. Post Office will be delivering mail on Friday at regular times and the post offices are likely to be open but again may also be closing early for Christmas Eve and there will be no mail on Saturday-Christmas Day. Many businesses may have special hours on Friday, some closing early and others could be closed all together so best to call ahead. Most businesses, even grocery stores and most larger big box stores will be closing early on Christmas Eve and be closed all day on Christmas Day so again check ahead for times at places in your area.

NATIONAL NEWS
--The Biden administration on Wednesday extended a student loan moratorium that has allowed millions of Americans to put off debt payments during the pandemic. Under the action, payments on federal student loans will remain paused through May 1st. Interest rates will remain at 0% during that period, and debt collection efforts will be suspended. Those measures have been in place since early in the pandemic, but were set to expire January 31st. President Joe Biden said financial recovery from the pandemic will take longer than job recovery, especially for those with student loans.

SPORTS
NFL= a busy stretch of days in the National Football League, one game tonight, two games Saturday including Green Bay vs. Cleveland, a number of games Sunday including LA Rams at the Vikings at noon Sunday and another game Monday night. Many with still playoff implications for the last 3 regular season games. The Vikings game Sunday with the Rams will be on AM960 KLTF.

The office of Little Falls Radio will be closed Friday for Christmas Eve. Because of this there will be no newsletter delivered on Friday. That will return on Monday next week. All at Little Falls Radio Corporation wants to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and be safe and well this weekend.
