--At 4:45pm Tuesday the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an accident on 83rd Street east of Highway 25, approximately one mile south of Buckman in Buckman Township.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, a 4-year-old juvenile male from Pierz was driving a Yamaha ATV east on 83rd Street, along with 6 year old juvenile male passenger. The driver lost control on the gravel road, rolling the ATV. Prior to the ATV rolling, the passenger jumped off the machine. The 4-year-old juvenile male was ejected, and life-saving measures were immediately attempted but he was later pronounced dead at the scene. The 6-year-old passenger was treated for minor cuts and bruises. The crash is still under investigation. Sheriff Larsen stated, “This a tragic situation for family and all emergency personnel. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved”. The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the MN State Patrol, MN DNR, Pierz Fire Department, Pierz First Response Team, MLMB First Response Team, North Air Care and Mayo Clinic Ambulance. The Shelley Funeral Chapel informed Little Falls Radio of the death of 4-year-old Steve “Owen” Meyer of Pierz.

--The Minnesota State Patrol released the name of the 79-year-old woman from Eagle Bend killed Tuesday afternoon west of Little Falls as Shirley Friebe. Friebe was pronounced dead when authorities arrived. Friebe was on Highway 27 when her vehicle collided head-on with 33-year-old Logan Klooster of Iowa who was treated for injuries at the hospital in Little Falls. Logan Klooster was taken to the Morrison County Jail and according to the inmate list website is being held on possible charges of criminal vehicular homicide and 3rd degree driving while impaired. The highway was closed for several hours in the afternoon as debris was cleaned up from the accident.

--The Morrison County Sheriff's Office reported via Facebook that they were looking for a 2011 Harley Davidson Motorcycle that was stolen sometime from Saturday night through Tuesday evening in the Shamineau Lake area of Morrison County. The motorcycle is red and black in color with skulls bearing license plate number 42194MJ. If you have knowledge of this motorcycle or where it might be, please call the Morrison County Sheriff's Office at 320-632-9233 and ask to speak to an investigator. --A 15-year-old Lake Shore boy was injured Tuesday, July 5, after his ATV struck a vehicle on Twin Lakes Road in Crow Wing County. The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash, reported at 5:37pm in Center Township, east of Merrifield. The ATV was traveling westbound toward a stopped sport utility vehicle. When the boy attempted to stop, he lost control of the ATV and it collided with the vehicle. The driver of the ATV suffered minor injuries to his left leg and knee and was transported to Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd by family members. The driver of the SUV, Kristen Pratt, 49, of Merrifield, suffered no injuries.

--The Foley City Council will take a look at a recent downtown business owner’s survey that they received yesterday. The survey returned responses from business owners with ideas to revitalize the shopping district. Ideas centered around downtown beautification, garbage removal and cost-sharing programs. The input will be used for a downtown facade improvement program for 2023 in Foley.

--Zion Lutheran Church has their Chicks for Bricks dinner tonight starting at 5pm at the church. A $10 donation is suggested to help with the debt relief from the fellowship ship they built. All invited.

--The Little Falls Area Chamber of Commerce’s 33rd annual Golf Outing was held on Monday at The Little Falls Country Club. Chamber President Deb Boelz wanted to thank all who golfed and were corporate or hole sponsors. --A Stearns County grand jury has indicted a St. Cloud man on a 1st-degree murder charge and a second St. Cloud man on aiding and abetting 1st-degree murder. 42-year-old Alphonso Cotto is also charged with 2nd-degree murder, aiding and abetting 2nd-degree murder, and being a felon in possession of a gun. 52-year-old Paul Coleman is also charged with aiding and abetting 2nd-degree murder in the May 24th shooting death of 38-year-old Michael Batsche. The incident happened at a home in the 1200 block of 10th Avenue South. Police arrived to find Batsche lying on the floor by the back door with a gunshot wound to his head. After the shooting, Cotto fled the state and was found and arrested by Chicago Police. He was extradited back to the Stearns County Jail where he is being held on $4-million unconditional bail or $2-million with conditions. Coleman is held on $3-million bail no conditions or $2-million with conditions.

--One person was injured Wednesday morning at 7:59am on Interstate 94 in Otter Tail County. 22-year-old Megan Stangler of Barrett was on Highway 59 when her vehicle left the roadway and rolled. Stangler was treated at the Detroit Lakes Hospital for injuries.

--The Royalton youth group will be offering a Murder Mystery Dinner Theater with a Christian twist in the Royalton Catholic church basement on Friday and Saturday starting at 6pm. Tickets are $20. Any questions on the event call Michelle at 320-493-1180.
