--Benton County honored a registered nurse whose heroic actions after a horrific crash saved a man. On Tuesday, commissioners presented its Citizens Lifesaving Award to Donald Hall. On July 13th of last year Hall helped a victim at Little Rock Road Northeast. Investigators say his car was hit from behind by an inattentive driver at highway speeds. The crash ruptured the car’s fuel tank and pushed the vehicle into the ditch, leaving the man with significant neck pain, difficulty breathing, and loss of feeling in his arms and legs. Hall came across the crash and began to stabilize the victim by opening his airway and immobilizing his spine. Doctors say both decisions were crucial to saving his life.
