--Morrison County Public Health has received a grant to start a food delivery program to eligible Morrison County residents. With the help of community partners which include Tri-CAP, Horizon Health, Morrison County Food Shelf and Pierz Food Shelf, healthy food will be delivered to the doorsteps of these eligible residents. To be eligible for a food delivery: 1. Meet food shelf income guidelines. 2. Meet at least one of the following: Age 60 years or older; homebound due to a disability; quarantined due to COVID-19; or transportation dependent. One delivery per month, per household. Please sign up each month. This will be a contactless delivery – boxes of food will be set on your doorstep, front porch, etc. Delivery date will be told to you at the time of sign-up.To sign-up for a delivery: Little Falls and surrounding area residents: call Morrison County Food Shelf (320) 632-8304 on Thursdays 3:00pm-4:00pm. This food delivery program is grant funded by ongoing availability from funds.

--Two people from the Twin Cities metro area are safe after their truck broke through the ice on a lake north of Dassel Monday. The Meeker County Sheriff's Office got the call just before 5:30 p.m. on a report of a vehicle through the ice on Big Swan Lake in Kingston Township. The sheriff's office says 82-year-old Kouthong Vixayvong of Eagan and a passenger, 76-year-old Somphong Phomsamouth of Eden Prairie, were able to escape and make it to shore before the truck submerged. Authorities say thin ice signs were posted at the access and they are discouraging any vehicle use on area lakes due to the rapidly deteriorating ice conditions.

--Little Falls City Council meets Monday at 7:30 at City Hall.

--Little Falls Fire Chief Craig Seelen is the guest today at 8:30am on the KLTF Community Focus program to talk fire prevention.

--Fire crews battled a landfill fire Tuesday morning. The incident happened around 6:30am at Tom Kraemer Sanitation at 16994 County Road 158 in Wakefield Township. Cold Spring Fire arrived on the scene and found a large area of the landfill burning. Additional fire crews from Rockville, Richmond and Chain of Lakes Fire were called in to assist. Crews battled the fire throughout the morning until it was extinguished. The cause of the fire is undetermined and the incident remains under investigation.

--A Sauk Rapids man has been arrested after allegedly firing a gun near a residential area. Sauk Rapids Police Officers were called to the 3400 Block of Old Creek Place on Monday around 11:20 p.m. after receiving several complaints related to gunshots. When officers arrived, they were directed by witnesses to an undeveloped part of the neighborhood where an individual was reportedly seen firing a gun. While officers were trying to find the individual, they were approached by 39-year-old Philip Hanson. Hanson was subsequently arrested for felony negligent discharge of a firearm in a municipality and misdemeanor carrying a firearm while under the influence. No one was injured and no property was damaged. Officers collected a handgun and large capacity magazine as evidence. Hanson was booked into the Benton County Jail awaiting formal charges.

--Morrison County had 7 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday on the daily report, 9 new deaths 2 in Crow Wing and 2 in Stearns County. County website 67 active cases, 20 Little Falls, 17 Pierz, 14 Royalton.

--Former State Senator Scott Jensen has made his Republican candidacy for governor official. Jensen served one term in the Senate and retired in January. The family physician has been critical of the state's response to the coronavirus pandemic and has questioned federal guidelines around reporting COVID-19 deaths.

NATIONAL NEWS
--Congress passed a $1.9 trillion dollar coronavirus relief package on Wednesday. President Biden is expected to sign it Friday. It includes a round of $1,400 stimulus checks. Biden and his top aides say that could reach a large number of Americans by the end of March.

COL BB= Nebraska eliminated the Gopher Women's Basketball team in the Big 10 Tournament 72-61 Wednesday, Gophers finish 8-13.
